We are running using the screen pass. MI has never been apart of that.
Addition through subtraction.
Do you have any numbers showing we are running more screens with Ingram inactive?
I don't know if it's more or less. But the first two or three weeks we seemed to call screen passes the play after Brees got sacked or pressure.
The last two or three games we are calling them early which is slowing down the rush.
Nothing to do with Ingram IMO. I think that's more of Payton being rusty.

See this is an actual reason that may have merit. Not that one of our stable of backs is out.

I still think that the run on the goal line was Peyton giving him that "Big Chance" With inches to run he failed..not able to beat that single db. I think he is now relegated to the third string.
It may be hoped that he will ask to be traded. Like other loser "superstars" he will stay here, do little, and take the money.

Honestly tired of people saying he couldn't beat a DB. Jesus Christ, it was Mason Foster #59
M.Ingram left end to TB 1 for no gain (L.David, M.Foster). The Replay Assistant challenged the runner broke the plane ruling, and the play was Upheld.

Thats not the play I remember. If I remember correctly he went right around RT and met the safety at the goaline for no gain. The play your ref was the fourth down play to the left.

Ingram will play again once the swelling goes down in his toe and the pain is not severe. He will win a game for us by running hard and breaking tackled to get in the end zone to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs

Mark has a turf toe. Very painful and unable to push off of with enough power to run over a baby
In other words, he was born with 10 turf toes.

Joe Horn 2006 all over again. Dude is done as a Saint.

I agree with this. Turning point. And ingrams rumored discontent was true - just as Horns was in 2006. On to the next one.

Ingram and Richardson were great at Bama. Maybe the Colts would give up their second rounder to recapture that magic!?
As much as the Bama in me would love for this to happen, it'd be good for Mark, bad for Trent. Trent is one good offseason of vision improvement away from being great, Mark doesn't have great speed, he isn't very powerful, etc. Even if his vision returns to what it was at Bama, he's a career backup. Lacy is about as fast, maybe faster, than MI, but he has great vision and power. Mark has some alright moves, but they haven't been displayed in a long time.
Even if his vision improves, which isn't an easy thing for a back to improve, he won't be running away from people or bulldozing them. Maybe in the right scheme he's a 1000 yard back, but not consistently in just any scheme. Sucks for him, good guy.

The OL play has regressed all season, but the fact remains that while Ingram was in, he was being outperformed by both PT and Sproles by a significant margin.
The entire team has struggled to run the past 3 weeks, but the OL play was nothing close to this bad in the first two games.
That said, Ingram isn't talentless, but he's not as good as the hype he was given and honestly is a mediocre back at best.
He continually side steps, can't hit holes and can't block. That's been shown.
I think he's just not bringing enough to the table to merit playing time.

His issues could potentially be partially linked to playing injured like some have insinuated, so we can't just straight say the guy can't play. Fact is, though, if you've watched him at all the last 3 years, he's lacked consistency and his supposed power.
In the end, if he can't stay healthy, he's just as much of a bust and waste of 2 2nd round picks as anyone.

The entire team has not struggled to run the last 3 weeks. If you compare the 2 guys who got the most of Ingram's carries you will see where the problem lies, and the hope that it could be corrected soon.
3 games
PT- 34 carries 65 yards (1.9 avg)
KR 19 carries 84 yards (4.4 avg)
Chicago was a slight disappointment for KR to not get more carries, but it was PT's homecoming, and Sean wanted ball security.
Numbers don't lie, garbage time or not.
The story with MI going forward, is that KR should continue to get more carries and an expanded role on this team. MI should let his toe heal and not play unless KR is just not getting it done or injury to any of the 3.

I don't give much of a shite about Ingram, but the line is not playing worse than it did the first two weeks of the season. We have problems, but they've been there since the beginning.

I think the line has gotten better.
At least in terms of pass blocking, which is what we really need.
Brees simply looks less pressured.
And he's stopped throwing picks.

Yep, I'd say his protection looks a little better. Christ, I hope it is. If not, we're fricked eventually.
