Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is the first time in program history that LSU has given up over 400 yards of offense in three consecutive weeks.

Kudos for being 2-1 in that stretch.

That said, Texas A&M might have 800 yards of offense against us.

Through 5 games LSU had the 5th ranked defense in the conference by yards/game

I find that very, very hard to believe.

And no, I'm not going to bother looking that up, but common sense tells me that this isn't the case.

The most relevant statistic regarding the LSU defense is.......

Mississippi State only punted one time all night.

LINKThis is where we can all look it up. Maybe not "history", but all the stats since 1986.

I'm correcting you because you are wrong

Just one example

The 2001 Nick Saban led defense gave up in consecutive weeks:

448 yards to Tennessee
632 yards to Florida
413 yards to Kentucky

I would say, statistically, it might be the most inexperienced LSU defense in history...

And here is how bad the Lou Tepper's defenses here were

In 1998, in consecutive weeks:

410 yards to Idaho
463 yards to Georgia
421 yards to Florida
573 yards to Kentucky

In SEC play that year, they gave up

306 yards to Auburn
463 yards to Georgia
421 yards to Florida
573 yards to Kentucky
285 yards to Moo State
497 yards to Ole Miss
369 yards to BAMA
509 yards to Arkansas

An average of 428 yards per game

Still a Top 50 defense
and a top 25 offense

I'll take it.

obviously you never watch a lou tepper coached defense. chief will shape our guys up even if it is gradual and won't pay off much until next year. tepper's defenses got worse as the year went on and he set up "classrooms" on the sideline where he completely mind fricked the players. at games end, they couldn't pass a drivers licsense test.

If it doesn't grow up real fast, it could be. We have one of toughest remaining schedules in the country and at least one top 5 offense to face.

There is only 1 statistic that matters and I am not going to waste any time explaining to you what or why it is.

Regardless of the stats, this defense is beyond pathetic.

Physically, it's getting mauled. It's like Tommy Moffitt took the year off.
It's not particularly fast either.
We thought Rasco would be good. He's not.
No one expected Welter to be a good starter and he's not.
Freak? I know he's being double teamed so that should open it up for someone else.
We can't tackle for shite.
We still look lost after 6 games.

You would have expected one of these highly recruited D-lineman to be decent and push for playing time and they haven't.

It's a total shite-fest on D with no end in sight.

Like Obi Wan Kenobi, Mett is our only hope.

Only if your history started with Sabans first championship. Which for too many people that is the case.
