here's a c/p from my planned ad

2007 Honda Recon 250 ES. It is garage kept and was never taken in deep water/mud. I only used it for hunting and light trail riding, and it has been kept up very well. There is an issue with it idling, and I believe it's because of trash/buildup in the gas tank that is blocking flow to the carb. An easy fix, I just don't have time right now with work and school. Besides this, it runs like a dream and has never let me down.

It'll make a good kids bike if you know some youngsters. Hell this close to Christmas you might get some good money. Go high price till after Christmas

I bet if you spent the $150 to fix the carb it would add $500 to the final price.
If I'm going to buy something if there is obvious issue with how the motor runs I'm not that interested or I'm gonna lowball the heck out of you.
I realize if in school still it's tough to swing but IMO something to consider...

KBB Says $2100 in excellent condition.
I think you can ask $1800, and if it doesn't sell by December, go $1500.

2000 at most. List it At 3000 when some one low balls you at 2000 sell it. At least they will think they are getting deal.

Your not even gonna get a call at $3k. Better off listing it at $2K where you might get a sniff and probably be prepared to take $1,500. There's too many older bikes that are 4WD, with tires, and racks selling in the $1K to $1.5 range for this to move anywhere close to $2K.

probably 4 million of these " "s

Problem for you is just about every hunter that is looking for a bike for hunting knows that a 2 wheel drive will not get the job done and all their buddy's have 4 wheel drive. You still should be able to sell, but probably not gonna get as much. If you can get between 12-15 hundred i would sell it. Good thing for you is it looks to be in great shape, but i would fix the idle problem first, that will cost you a few hundred on the sale if not.

I wouldn't describe the carb issue like that. Just say it doesn't idle well, could use a carb clean. Dont describe all that other stuff, makes it sound worse than it is. I think you'd be doing good with $1,500

depends how big a discount we're talking and if i fix it
make me an offer. you want it fixed up, or as is?

i wanted to, but it's not a carb clean that's necessary because i just cleaned it
im almost positive it's a buildup in the gas tank that's blocking flow and i just want to be honest.

O
Does it idle at all? If it doesn't, you most likely won't get $1500. Also, the kbb was mentioned earlier. A used four wheeler never goes for the kbb. The kbb isn't even close to the actual market value like it is on a car/truck.
I have a 08 Honda 400ex, perfect condition. Started out asking $2500. I'm down to $2000 now. There are people on there asking $3000 for 02's. Surprised this hasn't sold yet. I sold an 07 for $2300 a year ago. I buy and sell four wheelers on the regular.
