What I expect from LSU's d for the rest of the season...

We are going to play ultra conservative. You'll probably see safeties 20-25 yards off the ball, DBS playing with a lot of cushion, and lbs reading and reacting. Most of the rush will have to be generated by the front 4. Miles is probably very confident in his offense and will probably do a reverse of what we have done since 2009. Which is to put all the onus on the offense (rightfully so).
The objective will be to force long drives where we give up the short plays and hope they make a mistake at some point. It's going to be frustrating but I think it's the way to go to win the big games.

Only way that will work is if the OL steps up their run blocking

So maybe LSU's best defense this year will be to outscore the b'stards on offense.

If only our defense could make more plays. All we need is 2-3 turnovers and the offense would do the rest every game.

I would have to concur with your points there. I voted for 9-3 season before the season even started when Tiger Rant asked for our votes. I certainly had the Georgia game in the loss column and figured Bama, T A&M as losses with may be winning one of those and losing at Ole Miss. I still see 9-3 or maybe even 10-2 and with what we lost last year, I don't care how we Win , just Win Baby Win. Like yousay may be frustrating but as long as we win does it really matter?

Dont agree with that. Ultraconservative will risk even more losses than many are projecting. They will begin taking some risk

I expect Bama to handle LSU pretty easily. Then either ATM or Ole Miss to beat them. 9-3 will be good considering everything they lost and the lack of experience on D.

This defense reminds me of Teppers in the late 90's Expect lots of anger and hatred from the fans from here on out

I'm not sure...but if we can find a way to get pressure on the quarterback we should improve.
That's the root of the problem...and that filters to bad LB play and lack of good coverage because they are getting no help up front.

Were you watching the same game I was yesterday? Yeah the defense is bad but the offense might be good enough to outscore just about anyone from here on out.
And the defense is young so you might expect some incremental improvement the rest of the season.

Its time chavis earns his money. We need a complete overhaul of the d. I want to see the young guys playing more. Kwon needs to be on the field every down. We had an impressive haul on the dline, its time you let these guys play cus the starters arent cutting it.
Why havent wee seen more of thompson and jefferson at safety? Loston is terrible and eugene is really only good playing in nickle, not playing safety.
You recruited these guys, let them play.

The "D" made a big play by cause UGA to go 3 and out at a crucial time in the game. Right after we scored but a muffed punt snuffed out "BIG MO"...(momentum)

Yeah..to be the muff punt was the biggest play in the game.
I know we took the lead after that at some point, but that was a huge play.

My projection is by no means discounting our team. Believe it or not the only team better than UGA on our schedule is Bama and they aren't much better than UGA (UGA>bama on offense).
This team can be just like the 2001 team. That year Saban realized that after the ole miss loss that he needed to out score teams. This team is as good or better than the 2001 offense and the 2013 defense has the ability to be as good.

Up until now we've gotten virtually no pressure from our defensive front 4, so unless this changes, going ultra conservative on defense is a recipe for disaster. Every game will be a slow death whenever the opposing offense has the ball.

so we become Oregon just without the skinny track-kid speed?...

The idea is to force the offense to have to endure 13-15 play drives. That increases the likelihood of an int, fumble, or a couple of busted plays.
It can work. We won a lot of games in 2009-2010 with that same plan with an offense that was terrible.

It also increases the likelihood that the defense is completely gassed by the end of the 3rd quarter, if the offense isn't having a good game. We're not gonna score 41 points in every game we play. I don't think the solution to the problem is to become even less aggressive than we already are.

yeah that really worked when chavis tried that in 2009 huh?
When we are getting torched giving a QB all day to throw chavis needs to blitz. we have nothing to lose then.
