A small part of an Advocate article about the game.

quote:

“I get to go to a place I wanted to play my whole life,” Copeland said. “They didn’t offer me (a scholarship) and I have a little chip on my shoulder about that. They knew I was interested. They told me I was too short (6-foot-1).”

Gonna be busting people up. Other Ga players on our team...

Backup quarterback Anthony Jennings is from Marietta, wide receiver Quantavius Leslie is from Hogansville, fullback J.C. Copeland is from LaGrange, offensive lineman Andy Dodd is from Lindale and long snapper Reid Ferguson and offensive lineman Vadal Alexander are from Buford.

eta-Alexander was born in New Orleans

Hopefully that "chip" doesn't lead to an all too common personal foul by our All American full back. I hope the guy punishes UGA between the lines, between the whistles, within the rules.

They told me I was too short (6-foot-1).”

Too short to be a fullback? 6'1"?

I didn't realize height was a requisite for a fullback.

Odds of a drive killing, probably game throwing (and national championship hope ending) stupid, away-from-the-ball personal foul just skyrocketed.

Kind of ironic, but Georgia has their own version of Copeland - Quayvon Hicks 6'2" 260lb. His stats for the games against Clemson and USCe are pretty impressive. Hope he doesn't outshine Copeland.

Uga's rub is no slouch either. I'd rank him slightly behind JC.

I don't really get why a tall DL is more desirable. Yeah a tall DL has a better shot of batting a pass, but a shorter one who's just as heavy and strong would seem to be harder to block.

I remember Auburn saying last year they were gonna stop JC because he said they were scared in 2011. They was scared again in 2013 apparently.
