LA/MS Fishing License question

Staying in Bay St. Louis for the weekend, launching there and fishing back in LA in the Biloxi Marsh.
Will we need a MS license just to travel to/from?

No, but you should launch out of LaFrance's and just fish LA. Bayou Caddy's not a bad run, but it's tough to pass up all of the spots on the way back.
I'd get a MS license and fish most of that in front of LaFrance's. From there out to Redfish Bayou is good stuff. That's the line though, as long as you don't stop on the way back you are fine.

If you're gonna be bringing fish back to BSL, you better have a ms license.

That's what I thought too, but someone told me that there is some sort of agreement between the states that allows you to pass through, but how do they know for sure you caught the fish in LA and not MS?

The two states have different size requirements and different limits, you either fish LA or MS. TONS of people leave BSL and go straight south into LA to fish, and they keep LA limits.
You absolutely don't have to have the MS license to pull up to a MS marina and take your boat out while holding a LA limit.
If you are fishing the marsh just east of the photo I posted I think you damn sure have your story straight on where you fished. Obviously hitting the reef in front of BSL while holding an LA limit will get your arse in serious trouble, whether you boat a fish or not.

So what you're saying is, I could launch out of BSL, catch a LA limit in MS waters, and dock back in BSL, and tell the wardens I caught these fish in LA and be ok? Yeah I seriously doubt that.

Right, because you would be lying.
What he is saying is you can launch in MS, fish in LA and pull back up to a dock in MS. Just don't fish in MS waters without a MS license.

As long as you don't wet a line in MS waters you are fine, I do it every weekend although I fish both so I have both licenses

No. He is saying you can launch out of BSL, catch a LA limit in LA waters and dock back in BSL, and tell the wardens you caught the fish in LA and you will be okay. Have done it several times.

Gaston is correct- I have a house in BSL- have confirmed with Mississippi green jeans.

I guess what I'm asking is, how can they confirm that the fish were indeed caught in LA waters?

'Cause you ain't gonna find 25 specks to catch in MS!

I guess technically they can't. How can they confirm your kid shot that deer on the youth hunt? How can they confirm you and your buddy each shot a limit and you didn't shoot them both? Some things are still left to trust.
