cooler to hate The Black Keys. Their songs are more repetitive and stale where Mumford & Sons has only made two awesome albums.

For everyone hating on the Black Keys for all their sounds "sounding the same," I don't see how you couldn't say that about Mumford and Sons. Every single song from them I've heard sounds the same. They have that same exact banjo riff every time

people hate the black keys because their "songs sound the same"
people hate the black keys because they changed too much
so can anyone tell me which one it is?

Lol. None of these bands suck.

Black Keys are garbage and are only relevant because the music industry sucks dick

Well, there are even more people who like stuff because it's popular to like. "Radioheads".
We don't dislike Mumford because it's popular to hate them...we dislike Mumford because there are FAR better bands to enjoy and we see Mumford for what they really are.

Yes, because the music industry is quite busy pushing blues-rock bands from the midwest. Heck, the Keys would likely be MORE successful in an earlier era of the music industry, when the record companies actually still signed bands like the Keys.
I do prefer their rough early stuff. But I like rough, dirty music. But I can appreciate that the Keys were a small, independent band putting out a music totally out of step with the mainstream on a label no one had heard of. The fact they have become one of the biggest rock bands in the world is a historical accident and, frankly, kind of cool. They are just an old fashioned white boy blues band.
I do find it funny their big break was their worst album, but I think their last albums have sounded closer to Rubber Factory than Attack and Release. And Rubber Factory is f'n awesome. But I also don't expect them to be 25 anymore.

I guess I'm weird that I still like the black keys, both old and new stuff.

I prefer their older stuff, but I like their last two albums. I prefer it over their "middle period" of Magic Potion and Attack and Release, when I think they were trying too hard to be something they are not.
I think they are back to being comfortable just rocking out. Which they are good at.

This. Whereas I usually only like about half of the songs on their earlier albums, I like every single song on El Camino.

I like Radiohead well enough but would rather listen to Mumford & Sons.
If Mumford hadn't become so successful in the mainstream, I think the Music Board's opinion of them would be completely different.

Yes. Many people hate Kings of Leon. It's kind of a thing.

yep... it's unfortunate, but that is exactly what happened.
first two records were incredible... then they wanted to be arena rockers.
