One toe out the door? Hopefully the rest of him will be next.

an excuse to sit him instead of embarrassingly saying he isnt good enough?

we need to figure a way to give him as much rest as possible. it seems if he's struggling, the line as a unit is gonna struggle.
I a bit concerned about the unit as a whole is going to struggle either way.

I think with time they will gel. remember its a new offensive line coach and a new left tackle. Evans keeps the opposing team's defensive tackles/nose tackles away when he is at 100%. A lot of the brees pressure this year has been up the gut too.

I don't know about that... DLP is a pretty darn good Center, not the best in the NFL but still above average. Grubbs isn't too shabby, and Evans has not performed to his usual standard this year. If you have one guy holding back the unit the entire unit looks bad.
Also you have to realize, apart from run blocking they are going alright (yes, even the tackles). They held up against Atlanta, but the Bucs were really good against us in not showing their blitz pre-snap. For a mental player like Brees, who is one of the best in pre-snap reads, it gets highly frustrating in the passing game. Also the backs are not blocking like they should, but that could have something to do with the reads as well.
Just saying, don't put it all on the OLine, none of our guys in the backfield (including #9) have been all that good thus far in their role in pass protection. I do know that it will get fixed with these guys though, we have some of the hardest workers in the NFL.

It's the guards and center we need to worry about.
Pressure up the middle is definitely Brees' kryptonite.

He's getting trucked.
You know, I read that Khiry Robinson was talented at blocking in college.
That's a far cry from the NFL, but it might be another reason to call his number.

For sure. But for his size he does alright, especially when he blocks low.
