It's shopped. If lightning was that close, they would have cleared the entire area.

Tulane's Yulman Stadium will be better IMO:

Probably will. It's small for FBS though

Unless the cell got stronger closer to the stadium and had not had a strike within the warning radius.

I feel like teams like Tulane or even Wyoming would be much better served not to be FBS. Tulane could possibly be a powerhouse with LA talent. They would definitely sell a lot of tix if they won.
A Tulane vs McNeese State FCS rivalry would be really cool.

good questions. Missoula is about twice the size of Bozeman, but the two are very similar towns, and Missoula is a little more urban and progressive. Lots of farms and ranches in both valleys, Bozeman at the south end of the Gallatin Valley wheras Missoula is at the north end of the Bitterroot. MSU is nationally recognized as a great engineering and agricultural school, and Montana is definitely the intellectual hub of the state with regard to the liberal arts. From that, you can guess the differences in alumni and fans, and it's similar to what you described with State and Ole Miss.

I firmly believe that Montana could make the jump to the FBS level in a conference like the MWC for many reasons. First they have a solid football program, they have a distinct home field advantage, and finally because the have a great following. Universities at the FCS level like Montana and Delaware bare a states name and that makes a big difference when it comes to fan support and financial support. I also believe that Montana possesses a marketable look. Their helmets are pretty cool and you know how recruits love that stuff. If Boise St can do it, a program like Montana could do it! Id play at a stadium with a setting and view at "The Mouth of Hell Gate Canyon" like Wa-Grizz Stadium! I remember that Montana vs Appalachian St goal line stand and how awesome the atmosphere was.

I think if Montana goes, Montana State has to come too. That rivalry is too important to this state to have the teams be on different levels. The Bobcats have flourished under Rob Ash, were ranked #1 in FBS last year, are currently #3 and will only get better. The Griz haven't been the same program since Bobby Hauck left in '09.

15,000 students in a city of 62,000. Missoula looks like a nice little college town!

I remember watching a Montana home playoff game on the tube a few years ago and thinking "damn I shoulda gone to school there."
Seems like an awesome place. My priorities were a but different at 18 though.
