Does any ob'er have a F-450? Currently have a 02 250 with 7.3. Hate to let it go but brought a toy hauler last year and it is too big for the 250. I want a 450 but I need to know how they are in the mud and if they are worth it. I like how they look but not a large selection of mud grips for the 19.5 rim. Looking at 08-12 models. TIA

Unless it has tracks on it, bad. Way too much weight to be playing in the mud.

Hauler is 44 ft with a dry weight of close to 16000 lbs. I really need a dually. Not wanting to go med riding but in and out of pastures dealing with cattle and horses. A few sticky spots during the hunting season also.

A two wheel drive 1/2 ton would go through way more than a 4x4 F450. And if it gets stuck rent a trackhoe.

Yep......if you stick a 450 you'll need to call in an earth mover to get it out.
Or just build a driveway to it and call it a camp house.

F450 in mud = rock in water

Guess I will have to keep 250 when i get the bigger truck... How much heavier than a 350 is it really???

Not sure about actual weight difference but I know my F250 was like a rock in water. Had 2 F450s where I used to work and we wouldn't let the guys leave the asphalt in either one of them out of fear we wouldn't ever get them back on it.

Duallys are worst in mud than single tire trucks of same weight. Not sure why.
The 250 to 350 difference is an extra leaf spring. Not sure what the 450 has extra.

The 6.4l f450 get 8 miles to the gallon and way to heavy for the mud
