My observation from only seeing the 2nd half:
1. TCU made a ton of bonehead mistakes. Penalties, turnovers
2. The officials made two huge mistakes: the fair catch that wasn't and the fumble that was. Some of the worst officials I have seen. They even screwed TT out of a down late in the game.
3. TCU's defense had taken over the game in th second half. They pretty much allowed one big play and that was the pass to the RB that went down to the goal line.

LSU had 200 more yards of offense than TCU. TCU outgained Tech. The score differential was similar but thats really the only thing that was comparable in the two games.
eta: it is worth mentioning when comparing yardage that TCU had a KO return and a 5 yard TD drive, which basically eliminated two possession to rack up yardage...but still.

Interesting observation on how new QB play affects game. TT getting stuffed QB injured new guy comes in a different ball game. Casey Pachall out for TCU and got to wonder if they were not playing with backup would outcome be different.
Miles says he want to see Jennings get signifcant number of snaps. Would be good from change of pace stand point and get playing time for heir apparent for next year. With Met playing as well as he has, I wonder if Miles will really let AJ have a turn at the wheel.

Our offense tonight looked worse than every Jordan Jefferson led LSU team that I've watched.
Said this all night long.

Posted by DrakeLSU A win is a win. Anyone who watched that game knew who the far better team was regardless of the final score. If anyone is concerned, I don't know why. You win and move on to the next one.

Helped expose our Defense, which is good, early.
Huh?
14 pts scored off of a KO return and a 5-yd drive following a turnover.
13 pts in the other 59 minutes of the game. UAB exposed our defense more than TCU did.

Watching it just confirmes what most figured would be our weakness. The defensive back 7. I am very concerned, there seems to be a drop off in talent there.

It was an error-filled first game of the year. ,Nuff said.

The score could have easily been 56-6 if we had taken our opportunities, if PI had been called, and if we had played sharper. That is how much better LSU actually was than TCU.
But, we had a lot of first time starters, a brand new offense, horrible officiating, and it was the first game of the season. We had some kinks that need to be worked out.
I am MUCH more concerned about LB and DB play than I am by how much we best TCU the first week of the season.

Bama has won two bcs titkes while losing at home to inferior opponents. Shut up.

There shouldn't be much concern over LSU beating a mediocre TCU team by 10
concern is for rantards and pussies. we're 2-0...soon to be 3-0 and from what I've seen we have a deep and talented oline with quality backs, two very good receivers, immense talent at running back and an excellent QB on a mission. our D has been shaky but I have the utmost confidence that JC will get that sorted out. again, if we leave Athens at 5-0 it will be the other guys who will be concerned. only time will tell.
get better, get ready...get even.

Remember that TCU had all summer to prepare for LSU and I believe that we not only took their best shot
but also took IT out of them...literally...
That's a fact...did y'all see what TT did to them last night?

We play in the SEC. Have you not watched the last 8 years of college football? If we do what we need to do, win, we will be just fine regardless of strength of schedule.

Let's not forget the two pass interference "non penalties" against the Frogs that turned two touchdowns into field goals. The TCU game was never in doubt. However, I watched some of the TCU/TT game last night, and TCU is not as good as I had earlier believed.

Not only this but TCU coming off a walloping of OU in CB, we off a debacle vs Clumson and they were clearly emotionally pumped and in their back yard we took the best shot and with a host of bonehead plays still won by 10!

The officiating in last nights game made sec officials look like Solomon compared to the big 12 officials. It was awful and prevented the tcu comeback. Sure they were sloppy, but when you have bigs plays taken back it kills you.
I still can't believe you can drop the ball at the 1, have it roll dead in the end one and retain possession where it was dropped. Why is it not a touchback?
