Yeah, I will. Wasn't trying to dis 'em. I enjoyed the sandwich I got there. I don't know why I am against them; I guess it just wasn't as good as some phillys(traditional or non-traditional) that I have had in the past. Also, I have this problem in nola where I read and research about places and then by the time I get there I have them built up and they don't live up to my unrealistic expectations. Oh and on top of that I think my combo was 17$. That was a little over the top.

Jeez Louise, for a cheesesteak? I know Freret St prices are on the stupid side for relatively simple food, but that's a bit much. I always get sticker shock at Co Burger, too.

I like Liberty over Stein's. Pretty straight forward. I usually get mine with provolone, onions, and their pepper mix, though sometimes I opt for the Wiz. Skip the ones with "cajun" seasoning. They've started offering half sandwiches. With fries and a water it's $9. If you need a full sandwich, fries, and a fountain drink, then you're a Fatty McFatfat. I can eat a full sandwich from there and be full for the rest of the day.
Co. Burger is also $9 for a burger, fries, and a water. Not outrageous at all. better than Dat Dog that's $12 for a wiener, fries, and water.

I got a full, an order of fries and a bottled water. I didn't find it THAT big. Kinda like getting a footlong from subway. I will definitely go with the half next time for sure if I get fries. Guy didn't even ask though. I just said combo with bottled water and he hit me with 17. Just kinda blew my mind. Realistically you shouldn't be able to hit 17 at a place like that with a combo that has the biggest sandwich, loaded fries and a drink.
ETA Dat dogs prices are around 7.50-8.00 for a dog and two for fries. If you go cheapo and skip the beer opting for a cup of water then that's fine but it isn't twelve. I will pay a little more to be able to sit down and have some beers too. Plus dat dog's food > co burger and liberty IMO. Im frugal and like reasonable prices but Im not cheap.

I really need to avoid the food board during dinner time. Just went over there and got a Philly wiz instead of making food at home.
Solid sandwich, but I haven't had that many Phillys. Bigger size then I remember when I went right when they opened.

WTF is a traditional philly then?
A traditional philly sucks compared to an improvised philly.
I prefer a white cheese and peppers and onions, more like a Chicago style cheese steak.
Philly is meat and cheese whip.
