FWIW, I think Patterson was pretty fair, given his perspective. He wasn't saying that the game should have been 27-27. He was saying that of the 37 points LSU scored, 10 were "gifts" and his team did well to hold LSU to 27 "legit" points. Now maybe he is right and maybe he is wrong about the "gifts". But his point was to praise the effort of his team, pure and simple.

let's take away our 14 pt gifts and take away his 10 pt gifts. That is 13-27. I won't even add in one of the TDs that were Pass Interfered with, where we settled for a FG. If I did then it would have been a 31-13 arse raping of a top 20 team.
