Here Is Why Everyone Needs to Calm Down about Cam Robinson

For one thing, I choose to be optimistic and I think he comes to LSU. He got Cam Sims a scholarship to Alabama and that is set. So, now he is free to do what he wants. His mom wants him to stay home. He has a chance to start right away and do something special. I think he stays here.
But, if he does go to Alabama, everyone needs to chill. Here's why:
La'el Collins was the #6 rated player in the country a few years ago when we got him. He was a LT. He came to LSU and has been really good, but he didn't win us any championships. Maybe he will this year. But, here is the thing. We have recruited really well on the OLine. Between Pocic and Clapp and Brumfield and others, we are going to be just fine.
As great as Robinson is, it isn't like we would replace him with a slouch. If he grades out at 100% and the guy that we get to put in that place grades out at 92%, have we really lost that much in the vast scheme of things? We aren't Western Kentucky or Troy or something and hoping that the great talent picks us because we will have nothing else. If he goes to Alabama, we will be fine.
We are recruiting at a high level. I know that this has been said in other threads, but the chicken littles are all over the place and I am sick of sifting through the negativity to find a positive comment here and there.
LSU will be fine and at the end of the day, this decision will not make a big difference one way or the other . . . . unless he picks LSU, which means CHAMPIONSHIPS!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I actually like our OL depth right now too.
I won't bother discussing cam though.

I know mom wants him to stay home, but what is the driving distance between Monroe to Tuscaloosa compared to BR?

FWIW, I think this a dumb reason to depend on. Sims could easily be processed out in a year if Robinson doesn't go there and they really only offered him to lure CRob there.

The kid is playing around way to much. If his heart was in it to play for his home state I think he would have committed already.Losing some of your state kids to other schools is always going to happen but losing your top kids really hurts. When is the last time LSU took the #1 kid for Alabama.

Well said.
It still sucks to see him run to bama, but you bring some rationality to the table.

Couldn't agree more, I definitely want us to get the big guy and think he would be a great fit, West Monroe guys just usually slide right in and are studs. I choose to stay optimistic as well, but if he goes to our biggest rival he instantly becomes Tiger Bait, we will all have a great time watching our Tigers stomp some frogs Saturday night and life goes on!
Chill out people

The fact that Cam looks like he will commit on Friday instead of waiting till the last minute is a good sign for LSU IMO. Why would he want to hear everyone's B.S. all year about going to Bama instead of waiting till the last minute?
