This exemplifies what is so wrong about the media treatment of LSU and Miles....

On CFB Daily today, Tom Lugenbill (and ftr, I always hate him even when he says good things about LSU LINK) was talking about LSU and responded to a fan email saying that "Les excels with teams like these".
His exact words were, "No, Les excels because he has better players than everyone else" which was followed by raucous laughter and agreement by himself and everyone else on set.
He then later called Les Miles the "newly minted head coach at LSU" when he won the 2007 National Championship, perpetuating the idea that he pulled a Coker and won with Saban's team, which is complete bullshite as it was Year 3 after Saban.
Yes, I mad and jimmies rustled because this is truly what these uninformed hacks want the rest of the country to believe. Not to mention, it's simply not true.
The idea that Les coasts on talent is just wrong. By every objective measure, there are at least 5 teams that have recruited better than LSU over the past 5 years, and another 5 or 6 that are at least at the same level, several of whom are on LSU's schedule every single year. Just look at the composite rankings.
Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn, USC, Tennessee and even Clemson are just as stacked with elite HS talent as LSU is if not more. I understand rankings aren't infallible, but composite rankings at least give a good objective look at general talent levels at a school.
If you're talking about LSU having more NFL talent than everyone else, what changed so much from the high school rankings to the number of NFL players LSU produces??? Wouldn't those results be a credit to the coaching those players received at LSU versus the coaching at other schools that have similar talent out of high school?
And at this point, does anyone honestly believe that LSU has more talent than teams like Alabama, Florida, Georgia in the SEC and other teams like Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Texas, or Oklahoma??
And yet LSU continues to win more than any of them except for Alabama, and they do it against a far tougher schedule.
What is it about LSU and Miles that makes the talent the focus? You never hear "Well Saban only wins because he's had the #1 recruiting class 4 of the last 5 years" just like you never heard those arguments as knocks against the accomplishments of Pete Carrol, Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, Bob Stoops, or even someone like Mark Richt or Jimbo Fisher.
The fact that these "experts" are continually disrespecting and perpetuating the lack of respect for Miles is not harmless.
Take the time to notice the smirks and muffled chuckles when the ESPN "experts" like Luginbill, Nowkha, Stinchcomb, Pollack, May, Fowler, Davis and even someone like Herbstreit, who I think respects Miles, almost anytime they talk about "The Maaaad Hatter" or WACKY LES. And it's not even worth mentioning ESPN's new Skip Bayless inciter Finebama, or Baton Rouge's own resident mouth breathing hack Guilbeau.
These people are poisoning our program, and I don't even know if it's even intentional with all of them, or if it's more of a playground mentality of ganging up on the kid being bullied so the cool kids will think you're cool too.
It's exactly the reason our team didn't get the recognition it deserved in 2011 and were subjected to The Rematch.
I know tldr jimmies rustled but all of the people on this board that continually bash our coach share some responsibility IMO for creating a sense of disrespect around by far the most successful coach in our program's history.
It's also why a fan and media darling like Patterson can backtrack on Fields with no fallout from the media after bashing Miles for his handling of the Hill situation, which the media continues to crucify Miles for to this day.
If this stuff isn't frustrating to you, it's probably because you haven't thought it through. So please, think before you post.

Ain't nobody got time for that

He's got the best record with the country's toughest schedule .. He's a great coach that get's the most out of his players. Hell, he damn near won it all with a team that could barely complete a forward pass ...

I thought I was done reading after the fourth paragraph then I scrolled down. I aint got time for that

Could also be bc les has made more boneheaded statements and moves than any other prominent coach

without question, les miles and staff recruit as well as the top 10 programs in the nation. and their results are near the best year after year with that talent. it is clearly PROOF that LSU has great coaches. because we hiccuped on our OL 4 yrs ago and struggled at qb, we won only one NC. LSU is not the only team that has struggled with qb from time to time, college or pro. to make the above statement about LSU having better players than everyone else is indeed ignorant and possibly malicious. i do think that, collectivley, we LSU fans are a bit oversensitive about other fans and media comments that are borderline disparaging. it set's us up for those to "get under our skin". for proof, i offer the SEC rant.

It's called "coach speak" for a reason. Miles has more fun with it than most, but every single coach spends their press conferences hemming and hawing and avoiding giving actual information.
Belichick, Saban, Carrol, Meyer, Sean Payton, the Harbaughs, all of these guys sound like broken record playing an uninformative song in virtually every interview they give.
Miles just enjoys the process more than those other guys. Belichick and Saban look like they want to skin reporters alive during their pressers, and reporters are intimidated by that.
Miles isn't like that, so they think they can get away with making fun of him without repercussions, which they take advantage of constantly.

Read. Every. Word. And completely agree.
In all fairness, please understand that Miles brings much of those aforementioned snickers you mentioned on himself, as his command of the English language isn't what you'd call a white knuckled death grip. He says and does goofy shite.
THAT said, I would like to think that if I were an "expert" - getting paid to prognosticate - whatever - I'd focus more on the fact that:
1. Dude has won an NC
2. Dude has won the conference a couple of times
3. Dude is the only coach that fields a team that goes toe to toe with Bama (seriously, this point cannot be underestimated. LSU is the only team that Bama KNOWS isn't afraid of them, and THAT is solidly a Les Miles stamp. You think Bama fears Auburn? pfft. Georgia, even though they took them to the wire? Nah. LSU? Damn straight they do. Every night when Bama players and fans go to bed, they have to sleep with that media whore that is "the re-match", and her slutty sister of a game last year. To a man, they know the re-match is just what she is. A whore. And they know they banged the sluttiest of sluts in last year's game, escaping only with their dicks)
4. Dude coaches players up in the NFL
So, me, I'd focus more on the above.
And I'd focus less his odd choice of wild culinary treats, the shape of his hat, the way he claps his hands, or the prepositions he makes poor use of.

If you have ever dealt with the "new" media and I have all three print radio and TV, they will drive the fricking bus off a cliff to follow the narrative. The narrative is that Les is an lucky idiot and Saban is God and if the story doesn't fit into the box most media will ignore it.
Now having said that get a sirius or xm subscription and listen to Chanel 91. (It's cheap and they will basically give you the radio) Most all of theses guys follow nothing but college sports usually football and actually have a brain and use it, and dont give a flying frick about the narrative.
Btw, the also think all the shite Les gets is nuts.
