Tailgating at Tiger Stadium has been like our Mecca for a while now!
Love hearing this!
Enjoy your stay! It will be an experience like nothing you've had before. The people, beer, and food are great.
I highly suggest you try some of our local beers. 4 of my favorite Louisiana Beers:
Tin Roof Blonde Ale
Parish Canebrake
Abita Purple Haze
Abita Amber
And all of these have higher alcohol content than the light beers most will be drinking so be sure to pace yourself.

Get your Cabbie to drop you off at the corner of Highland and Dalyrample Dr. You will be in the best tailgating area in the world. Just go up, say hello and say ya came to BR to enjoy the flavor of LSU football. The rest will just fall into your hands. Maybe pack your beverage of choice, as far as food, you will be offered plenty! Enjoy!!! Its the Holiday Season! Tiger Football!

You should try to find a group to meet through this board. I'm sure people will be willing to help.
You don't want to just wonder aimlessly.

Sounds like people are pretty welcoming to random Irish drunks showing up at their tailgate! But if anybody wants to arrange a meetup for a beer or two and explain the lay of the land we'd be happy to. Email address is in a previous post.
I'm really hoping for a 6pm kickoff!

Advice to all, never challenge an Irishman or woman to drinking competitions, trust me on this one.

There are plenty random drunks around here. Your rarity comes with your accent and culture. We love giving people a taste of Louisiana culture, especially our passion of football.
But I bet you will be playing your fair share of drinking games. Good luck!

We don't have beer pong tables in Ireland and hence suck at it. Sort of like kryptonite for Irish people while in the US! We'd prefer to sit in a dark corner and minimise interruptions to actual consumption.
One final question. Is it acceptable to wear shorts to a bar at night time or is there a strict dress code?

Absolutely. I wear kakhi shorts to bars all the time. It's really hot most of the time so any sort of long pants or jeans will have you sweating quickly.
Some bars prefer you not wear a bunch of graphic t shirts and crap though. My best advice would be to just wear a collared shirt with kakhi shorts.

We have a great tailgate group. That would welcome you. What's an email we can hook it up.

See thats what so great about beer pong. You can play on just about any surface.

I think having 10 idle beers sitting in front of an Irish person is just too much for them to handle, so the game never gets off the ground.

Friday
-Free drinks at Fred's in Tigerland from 8-10
-Walk to Bogies after Fred's to meet some ladies
Saturday
-Start at Dalrymple-Highland intersection and bounce around tailgates on the Parade Grounds.
-Visit other tailgates you've been invited to
-BYOB out of courtesy but expect to have all sorts of drinks forced upon you in addition to delicious grub.
-Check out Mike the Tiger's habitat and stumble into the game 45 minutes before kickoff to catch pregame
-Go to Walk-Ons, Fred's, or Bogies after the game

Walk-Ons is a F no. Post game roaming is far better than it. The Chimes serves far better food by far, a little saner site farther from campus would be Sammys' on Highland south of campus.
