That is a dick move on the cops.
They didn't know they were cops, some dude just told them to stop using foul language and because they didn't they got arrested?
Wow. At around age 17 you are cocky. I've been in such a similar situation at that age so I can relate. Was in court for a traffic ticket and a policeman came up on me sitting in court and just started sniffing on me to which greatly offended me.. (I never drank or did any drugs) and as he walked away I simply said under my breath, "you arse" I didn't even say a-hole and he turns around and comes to arrest me and I freaked out and resisted. I even pushed the guy down and ran out.. Eventually stopped and turned myself over after my initial freak out. Doesn't make you a bad person at all and I never had to serve any community time (that is CRAZY) got a lawyer and since it was my only violation they took it off.
By the way while I was in jail they took my phone and wallet initially at a book in.. then they took me in another room and searched me more and took two 20 dollar bills out of my pockets and said thanks and kept it to themselves. Which I had no say in to get back at all and never went into my possessions. I never saw that 40 dollars again. Stole it from me.
Definitely no issue with Rickey Jefferson moving forward here.

quote:Am I correct in reading that RJ's friend went looking for trouble by F'ing with a police officer and then RJ got physical with a cop?! May not be morally worse than what Hill did but is incredibly stupid, egotistical, and a far more serious offense in the eyes of the law. And Miles knows that JJ F's with selling weed... doesn't make RJ a thug, it's just embarrassing b/c this kid's gonna end up getting in trouble while at LSU.
a narcotics agent, Deputy Joshua Collins, said he told Sampson to stop the profanities, to which Sampson replied, 'f--- you, b----." As Collins attempted to arrest Sampson, Sampson resisted and started fighting, according to the report. Jefferson and Sharp then attacked Collins, according to the report.

it's pretty shitty that cops have the authority to arrest you for calling him an a-hole, or frickING a-hole, even.

Wait until some media blow hard gets a hold of this story and runs with it.

That is an extremely fricked up situation. Those undercover cops fricked those kids over. 2 years probation? Ridiculous
This is why I hate cops. Also watch this shite

I'll never believe a cop joins to serve and protect when shite keeps coming out about them.

Read some of the prevous post. Doesn't sound at all like what you quoted.
How do you know he will get in trouble at LSU?

People with bad attitudes always find trouble wherever they go...hope Ricky doesn't fall into that pattern...he looks smarter than that! I'm crossing my fingers now...

did I just read???
They didn't know they were cops. Up until the point where they took their cuffs out. Again, MULTIPLE adult witnesses were there and their statements were deemed "not necessary" by JPSO IA division.

Well this post smells of ignorance. Reports were that RJ's friend was approached by an undercover cop. Jefferson and another guy intervened.
Now I don't know if they could tell if he was a cop or not. However, why would you jump to conclusions that he just started messing with a cop?

Kids make mistakes, especially when with peers at that age...I did...most of us here did...get over it...move on....Ricky is going to be fine and will play at the next level in 4 years...so what!
pipe down. Those kids didn't do shite wrong. It's like the ATM players who were arrested at their house because some dudes rolled up to their house and started fighting. How in the hell do you arrest the players and not the guys who started the fight?

Collins was "clearly visible as a police officer," according to the report.
I can understand recruiting the guys that help you win regardless, but it's stupidity if he has warning signs and you just cross your fingers and hope. I defended Hill but obviously Miles ignores even offenses committed during the recruiting period. At that point, what are you going to use to judge their character?

Dumbass, a guy in plain clothes runs up to you and starts tossing your friend around then screams, I'm a cop? There's no fricking way a cop should be allowed to do that. I hope all you cop lovers get a taste of cops fricking you over.
Posted on 8/19/13 at 12:40 pm to madddoggydawg
And the kid the cops initially went after has two LEOs as parents. I'm sure he was starting shite with readily identifiable officers.

Do you think if Collins was really "clearly visible as a police officer" Jefferson would be getting off with only probation?
Posted on 8/19/13 at 12:47 pm to Hoodatt
he should have fought it, but I guess it wasn't worth the risk
