That Ruger is one of the best made semi-auto .22s ever made.

Mine says that, as well! I thinks that's also about the last time I tried to break it down entirely.

My dad had a Mk1 and I never saw it fail to fire.

Seems like I did see that. Will search and report back.

I have this.

I love it.
I may end up going that route (style-wise) but really looking for more of a look like a "regular" semi handgun. Easier to holster around in a boat, etc.

The Ruger in the second picture has adjustable sights and will be more accurate with different types of ammunition.
I'm not sure what happens with fixed sights but I really don't want to have to screw with sights. I hate sighting in guns.

I've owned both of them. I had the bottom one first. Very accurate and never gave me any problems. It was stolen out of my truck. I then bought the first one. I love it. Lighter than the mark II. Shoots just as accurate and if had to buy another one I would definitely purchase the M&P again.

I love my SR22. So far, 100% reliability and accurate enough. Very easy to take down and clean. Comes with two different grips, two mags, two types of mag floor plates and a gun rug.
It is DA/SA and the safety also functions as a de-cocker. DA pull is long but SA trigger is very nice. It is light and small enough to drop in a pocket.

It will not be as accurate as the Ruger MKII or MKIII, Woodsman, Buckmark or others, but it is a good little plinker.

I will make the disclaimer that I have only run CCI ammo through it, but 5 different types. Standard Velocity, Tactical, Stingers, Mini-Mags and Velocitors. Eats em all up.

I have the ruger mark and love it except my eyes suck now and I need a better front sight for it as I can't see the iron well
