Magee didn't do much. wish they would have let him run a sweep or a swing pass to see him in open field. It was pretty much up the gut every time. It's a scrimmage ya know, it was very very vanilla.

Hey it works for me honestly. Our d won't face a better running game, and our o wont face many defenses as tough. We're going to try to run it down tcus throat IMO.

Can the thread title be changed to guys behind a keyboard argue about Welter. Christ. Pages 4-9 are nothing informative at all.

Nope. We just got new info three posts back. Read the top of page 9.

you can hold out hope
I'm not necessarily "holding out hope" for anybody. If he starts then IMO he likely earned it. Only thing I don't like is completely writing off a player without actually seeing if he's earned the praise he's getting. Chavis has put an assload of linebackers in the NFL and I trust what he puts out there. Are they all great? No but they're likely our best option if he puts them on the field.

I came back to read up on the thread an see if biged had any more questions, and I saw hcb and tiger lee arguing like a bunch of lady boys about welter.

I haven't read every page on here. I was at the scrimmage. Welter did play well he was very good against the run. Ego and freak reeked havoc against both twos and the few plays against the ones. Gilmore looked good too,Coverage was excellent by both units. Jalen Mills particularly strong. Beck with never even took a snap with the twos while I was there. Offensively we went 4 wide hurry up with Blue in backfield for the best drive of the day. Two big completions to a dbl covered Landry were the highlights .we also ran well out of this formation which needs to happen. Out of the basic two back formation all of the good runs were to the left side. Overall offense was very sluggish lots of pre snap penalties and something I hate (a bunch of walking around ). Brazil looked like a freshman with skates on ,he was #1 punt returner though with Odell single return on kickoffs. Long ways to go.....

Nope, third team all the way.

Is this a good thing?

It means he filled the hole and made good tackles. He stood up Hilliard and Hill on a few I remember. I was very surprised how good he looked. I never saw him over run a play or get caught out of position.

Well now, that's one hell of a different opinion. I want to believe your version fwiw.

Just telling you what I and the folks around me saw and were saying .
Posted on 8/18/13 at 1:08 pm to redfish99
well the folks around me were saying different!
I don't see welter lasting there all season. Maybe he's the best option for now, but I don't see it for the long haul. I didn't want this to turn into a thread about him. 99% of what I said was positive

Why did we throw into double coverage?

LSU Scrimmage Notes (reports still coming in)

Agree. The whole thread, which could have been a good one, was hijacked by Tigerlee and a bunch of his retard haters yacking about race relations. You can just stop reading after the first two pages . This board is dominated by a bunch of immature geeks who think they are big shots.

FYI...The best three posts are featured under the OP...
In general, you read at your own risk after the first page of a thread.

No problem disagreeing . I thinks lots of people want this kid to fail for some reason. To think he's not the best option this far along is crazy. The other young linebackers to me are outside types. Beckwith has all the physical abilities but must be behind on the mental aspect of the game which is very important for inside lb in our scheme. We shall see.
