IMO Dillon Gordon will have a breakout year. Dillon is now the starting TE. I believe he will be the best all around TE LSU has had since David Jones in 2003. In fact it would not surprise me if he was better than Jones and will ultimately be a star.

After one year in the S&C Program he has increased his weight from 245# as a senior in HS to 280#. He is 6' 5" tall. If the few videos mean anything he has lost none of his speed and quickness. He is an extremely powerful and aggressive blocker and will make a good LSU running game even better. He has improved significantly as a receiver. Gordon is also a big time playmaker. I predict that AL's Jack LB will not be a happy camper when he plays against him.

Where does it say he's the starter. And I thought DeSean Smith was where all the rave was. Gordon is a beast though.

I wasn't aware that Dillon's dad was a William.

Dickson is actually the number 1 but on our 2 TE sets its Dickson and Gordon if Gordon can catch consistently he will overtake Dickson IMO..Smith will be good and see the field a lot but he's a freshman and you don't walk I'm and be named starter at a place like lsu 4 practices in.
Unless your initials are LF

Gordon is a powerful TE, but I doubt he's much of a threat as a pass catcher. Smith should be our best pass catching TE, and I wouldn't be surprised if Gordon/Smith get the majority of the reps towards the end of the season. Dickson seems to be the compromise between the two.

Gordon is a beast. 6'5'', 286lbs!?!?!?!? This will help our outside run game a lot. Basically an extra lineman.

Where did you hear Gordon isn't a pass catcher? Are you just assuming that?

I believe Shea said his hands aren't as solid as Dickson/Smith, which isn't exactly surprising or an indictment. Also, if they're bulking him to >280 I don't see him being used much in the passing game - seems like he'll be in a lot of run packages.

This, and together with Copeland, there should be some nice holes to run in.

Dickson will start due to speed and hands... Dillon will be #2 and used for blocking.

This. No one is bearing out Dickson this season. Smith might next year after some time I the program. Gordon will be the blocking TE with a few surprise catches.

I know TD.com doesn't like the whole "anonymous sources" thing but seriously I work with the program and I heard from someone important in the program that Dickson is the starter this year.

People have been saying Boone the past few years. And each year he has done nothing. Already passed up by Jarvis and OBJ last year and it sounds like Dural is about to take the #3 spot. Boone has had his chances and just hasnt done much with it. And it sounds like Dural is just better than him.
