Ask them for smoked canned filets packed in oil. That ensures premium quality.

But seriously, salmon from the northease coast taste differently than salmon from the Pacific NW.

I don't know what your post originally said, but from the responses I see,I just know I missed a level of greatness not usually seen on here.

Differences in water temperature from one coast to the other. Atlantic is warmed by the Gulf Stream, while the Pacific is being cooled coming from waters off of Alaska and the Bering Sea. The end result is the fat content in the fish.

The best salmon is wild PNW salmon, in my opinion. It has a better flavor than the farm raised fish.

Just had salmon fish and chips the other day. It was outstanding and definitely better than I thought it would be.
