Let's look at Miles' entire record on discipline.
- 2007, Starting DT suspended for entire regular season
- 2008, Starting QB dismissed
- 2011, Starting QB suspended for half a season. Starting RB, and 2 CB's suspended for a game.
- 2012, Heisman Finalist dismissed
Let's not pretend that Miles is all of a sudden soft on discipline. If so, why do you think that is? Is Jeremy Hill so much more valuable than players like Perriloux or Mathieu? No.

I believe it was said that he was reinstated to practice with the team until Miles decides what suspension(doing the season probably) he will administer. Why people jump to conclusions like this I don't know. Miles owes nothing to these a-hole sportswriters and opposing coaches who wanna see the hammer fall quickly for their benefits. If it were an athlete for a team they represented they wouldn't be sayin jack shite.

Well, I think you have put yourself in Miles shoes and in Hills shoes with all the facts.. Then think about, "what would I do?"
The media is not giving you all the facts about Hill's prior probation and you probably have based an opinion off one side of the story.
Question:
Does suspending HIll from the team the last 4 months ago count for any punishment in your mind? Miles did that you know...already...He didn't wait for the legal system to play out, he took Hill off the team..
Missed all team meetings, weight lifting, interaction with the players etc... and not knowing the outcome of this legal issue.
In my mind, Hill has been under a lot of pain thus far...
2ndly, Miles/LSU/Hill just learned yesterday what the legal outcome will be moving forward.
Miles wants to think about the recent development...and he indicated he would call on people he respects and get their opinion, but ultimately he make the call..
and lastly, Miles doesn't owe any of us an "outline" of Hill's punishment..

No. His actions were reasonable. Hill doesn't deserve a draconian punishment for a routine misdemeanor bar fight which was likely instigated by the so-called victim.

First I believe Miles has a true concern for these kids future and I believe that Miles is doing what is best for these kids, NOT THE TEAM.
The very fact that Miles is a "family man" is the reason he reinstated Hill. You keep Hill in the "program" so you can "teach" him on a daily basis. Daily contact with mentors while he serves his probation will give Hill a better chance of staying out of trouble, learning from past mistakes and building character.
Miles loves his kids and treats them like sons. It took forever to kick RP off the team and he gave TM many chances before kicking him off. The same line Miles drew in the sand for RP and TM I'm sure is drawn in the sand for Hill and if Hill crosses that line, it's really out of Mile's hands at that point.
Kids, simply by the fact that they are at a learning institution deserve some mercy and second chances, if you will, especially when the kid is repentant and contrite like Hill. Hill needs a chance to redeem himself. Miles is giving him that chance and it's the right thing to do.

I don't think he's "lost control of the team" or any crap like that. But for a guy who is always painted as a family man with great moral character, I think he comes off as more worried about winning with his lack of action yesterday. Thoughts?
Coach Miles made a good point yesterday. We as human beings are flawed. No one is perfect, and we all make multiple bad decisions at some point in our lives. For most it's when they are younger like Hill, for some its when they are older. Hill did something wrong, and has been punished since it happened. 9am to 6pm curfew, additional probation, added comunity service, separation from the team, and whatever additional punishments from the staff. The young man committed a misdemeanor of punching someone after some type of altercation(not condoning the act)and people want to label him a menace to society. If that's what people consider a criminal or out of control individual, they need to watch the new orleans local news. I think Miles has the insight to recognize the difference between a young man who is far gone true criminal, and a kid who has made some mistakes, but is not a criminal or danger to society. I think Miles is giving this yong man an opprtunity to make a success of his life not only as a player, but as a person. I repsect Miles for allowing him back on the team, and not caving to the cries of the media who know little to nothing about Hill as an individual, or the circumstances. Getting kicked out of school could have very well sent his life in a downward spiral. This decision may have just saved his future, and that shows a side of Miles moral character.

I guess if you took more time to seek to understand what went down ( as CLM did) you wouldn't be crying now. Don't listen to the guys at the water cooler. Dude who got clocked is a douche and has been in tons of fights. Don't get caught up in the morality police as fights happen every weekend at most college bars. Think it through and you will see CLM probably has all the facts and isn't compromising like you think.

Hill went through a team ban dude. Not one football player was allowed to speak to him. He is on a last chance and If he messes up... He is off the team for good.

He punched a dude. From what I hear the guy was picking fights with everyone. Buddy of mine chased the dude around tiger land 10 minutes before Hill sucker punched him. There's a fight in tiger land every night just about. Big deal. I can't believe this has blown up to where people are hating on Miles and Hill.

I've gained respect for Miles. He's handling this on his own terms and is not letting anyone outside of the locker room persuade his decision.

I have lost no respect for Miles.
He has one of the highest graduation rates in SEC.

Hell no, I'm proud of the fact that he's willing to take this kind of heat for what is really a first offense at LSU for this kid. Anybody that thinks he's hiding behind the unity council has probably never put on a pad before. That's just part of team building.
