Lol, really shortsighted view there. The PS3 had the better exclusives according to most, than the 360. Those same developers are still exclusive for the PS4, including the developer of the generation Naughty Dog.

I will go with the console with the better developers, not even including the indie developers that dwarf the XBox offerings, such as the Indie game of the year Journey exclusive to PS. And they aren't going to MS anytime soon, with how MS charges Indies, and how PS puts them in the spotlight.

Who said anything about you? Just pointing out how the PS4 is outselling the XB1 handily at the biggest retailer despite the "weaker" launch lineup. I guess people understand the better developers are on PS and are willing to wait as a console is going to last 5-8 years not 1 year.

The idea is that you are buying it for the games it has now and the games it will have in the future. I do that with every console I buy.

So we are not allowed to look at recent history as a possible gauge ?

You can, but you have to look at factors that disagree with your data. Like the Gamecube (last place) -> Wii (first) -> Wii U (selling on par or worse than Dreamcast).

I find it even more odd that they talk about taking down the incumbent when the 360 has sold less than PS3 and Wii worldwide. The article was very US-focused, and it didn't hide that. All data quoted was just for the US.

No really, and are you buying a console for 1-2 years? I don't think so.

excellent point.

Even with a slightly weaker launch lineup, the PS4 is still handily beating the XB1 on Amazon, both lately and overall.

mehh point. or will be.
XBone will likely catch up and more than likely surpass PS4 in preorders or overall sales by the end of the Holidays.

Lol, based on what? The biggest retailer just said yesterday the PS4 is outselling the XB1 both daily and overall.

Tends to be the opposite of what you said.

No amount of evidence could change their minds. You are wasting your time.

because the XBone won the previous generation and the products are pretty similar at the moment.

once Microsoft rebounds from the bad pub they rightfully got earlier this year from their shitty press conferences, they will catch up

don't be foolish enough to believe that because of early sales reports, months before release, the PS4 is going to dominate the next gen.

LOL Wut? PS3 sales passed 360 sales awhile ago.

Unlikely, still losing daily and they've reverted over a month ago now. If that trend didn't shake by now, it's not going to.

Hehhhhhhh. It's an uphill battle for the XB1, but maybe years down the road it can catch up like the PS3 did.

That's actually interesting, they may not.

The initial rush of preorders has now passed, and since, they've pretty well plummeted.

The PS4 currently sits at #16 on Amazon's video games best sellers list, and the XBone at #38.

Both spent months in the top 5, and have dropped considerably since. Of course as the holidays approach there will be more action again, but nothing close to the initial batch of preorders when they were newly announced.

360 is about the to pass the Wii in the US, which will make it the 3rd biggest console ever in the US.

The market is way too split this generation for any of them to achieve PS2 or DS numbers.

Nothing is ever touching PS2 numbers unless the console market completely tanks and Sony/Microsoft join together to make one super console called the PlaystationBox or XstationBox, whatever they wanna call it.

Too split otherwise.
