Dale Brown Statue First & Foremost

Shaq has a statue but he's the first to tell you Dale Brown should have gone first. Dale never backed down from anyone or anything, including the Nazis over at the NCAA. What he did for LSU and basketball statewide was unprecedented. He literally drove the state handing out purple and gold nets. He was railroaded out thanks to the Lester Earl situation, which Lester admitted the NCAA pressured him into lying and for which Lester has both publicly and privately apologized to Dale Brown. Watch the Man in the Glass documentary on Dale. The school and state owe him a lot... I've already suggested to TAF that they put up a Statue of DB... But obviously Billy Cannon, Tommy Casanova, Charlie Mac???, all need consideration, Yes? No? ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

First they need to put a Smoke Laval statue out in front of the nacho stand

Charles McClendon and Tommy Casanova before Dale Brown.

Actually Shaq said Pistol should've been first

Maybe if he won a championship.

Why would he get a statue?

Dale Brown is a great Tiger. They should do something like Dale Brown Court at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Similar to Duke- Coach K Court at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

No. Do you know how bad that looks to build a statue of a coach that won ZERO national titles? And this isn't football where the coach doesn't have control over whether or not he makes the national title game.

Sorry, couldn't even make the final 4 with CJ, Shaquille, Roberts, Wayne Sims, Vernel, and Williamson??
There's a couple of guys at the rec center that could do that.

I think it's time to start honoring our legendary players and coaches with a statue garden on campus.
ETA: I remember the epic fark thread when these statues came out. I was in tears laughing for a couple of days.

Dale's LSU was put on probation because Lester Earl was pressured to lie about what happened, which Lester came out and admitted. If you don't understand what is really happening with the NCAA, then you might as well go sit at the statue of Adolph Hitler. Dale's contribution to LSU has gone way beyond the court. Did you see the story of Stanley Roberts? Dale promised Stanley when he recruited him that he would get a diploma. But Stanley like cheeseburgers more than books. Stanly ate himself out of a NBA career. Dale found him practically homeless... Got him a job. And told him the promise was still alive ...to get Stanley his diploma. And Dale's foundation did just that and now Stanley Roberts is a College Grad and has a life beyond being 7'1" tall. This... Dale has done for countless many. Countless. Dale Brown court, without a doubt. Pete has a stadium named after him and that's perfect. Statues are good for one thing. They immortalize the past for those in the future. Pete, Tommy C., Cholly Mac, Dietzel, Shaq, Pete, Bob Petit, Cannon, Skip Bertman and put them all on the Walk of Fame... What a great thing to do before the football games... Would beat the heck out of going by Mike's lair and hoping to see a Tiger maybe roll over...

Any statue of dale brown would have to include:
quote:
I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. Then I knew we had a chance.

No. Shaq is absolutely an immortal legend and deserves to be immortalized. Dale not so much.
