The former LSU star entered camp with the inside track over Terrelle Pryor and rookie Tyler Wilson to replace Carson Palmer in Oakland and has done nothing in the first week of camp to change that equation.

quote:

Flynn has been the most impressive of the three quarterbacks so far in training camp with the most accurate arm, a good grasp of the offense and strong leadership on the field.

quote:

He threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns in a loss at New England in place of an injured Aaron Rodgers late in the 2010 season. He then started the regular-season finale the following season, going 31 for 44 for 480 yards and six touchdown passes in a 45-41 win over Detroit.

He's still the biggest unknown coming into this NFL season. Hope he does well though.

Seeing as Terrelle Pryor just learned how to throw a football I wouldn't consider that a great accomplishment. Wish him the best though.

I hope this guy hits the ground running and shows up. Would be great to see him do what Jamarcus didn't.

One of my best fantasy football moments. I had Aaron Rodgers as my regular QB and nobody else to replace him, so I picked up Flynn as a free agent figuring the Packers' passing game would make him look good even in a meaningless game. Was not disappointed.

Doesn't take much to beat out Pryor, he should have the inside, outside, and middle track over him

He's going to tear it up out there, by Oakland standards of course

Matt's good at those quick slants and screens, exactly what Oakland needs since they can't protect the QB and lets defenders through a lot. He's fairly mobile so that should help too.

Now hopefully those receivers can actually catch something. Oakland's just a TOUGH place to do well.

Flynn, a backup in college at LSU to former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, has started just two games in five seasons as a pro.

A perfect example of what people mean when they talk about the difference between journalism being "accurate" and being "truthful". The statement is, no doubt, accurate. Flynn was, indeed, Russell's backup. In 2006. What is needed to make the point truthful is that he was also the starting quarterback on LSU's 2007 national championship team.

In a game that meant NOTHING for either team. I was impressed with the NE game though......
