Well yeah I guess since they are the odds on favorite to win it again.
I'm not usually an advocate of chasing money, but in his case I definitely would. I'd take the contract with the most guarantees. If what he gets offered are pretty much the same, then of course I'd go with Miami.

His agent had been talking about the Heat since last year, but that could be his agent drumming up support. I think us and the Spurs would be an ideal fit for him, but it wouldn't surprise me if he chooses the Heat.

He's also said, he has "plenty of money."
He may legitimately be looking for the opportunity to re-start his basketball career, grow into role and play significant minutes (once he proves he's capable).
Though, that could be any of the teams mentioned.

signing with Miami would be chasing a ring imo
I really hate statements like this. It's not that it is false, but it seems like wanting to be on a championship caliber team is looked down upon these days. I would assume that chasing big contracts or something along those lines would be looked down up more, but I am apparently wrong.

It depends on who you are, where you are in your career, and how much money you've made.
If i were an upper tier player, latter in my career, and have made enough money to where me, my kids, and grand kids could spend, I would take less money for a chance to win.
But if I am a journeyman player, or in Oden's case, looking to resurrect my career, I'd look for guarantees.

Oh you would defend the team of ring chasers on the Miami heat.

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Just Kings & Pelicans scheduled to watch injury-riddled free agent C Greg Oden workout & rehab in hometown of Indy Tuesday, source tells Y!

I wonder if Mickey Loomis is still attending. Before he was already there, now he'd be making an extra effort.

Mickey is bringing Malcom and Will along as well.

Really happy he's actually working out. I'm expecting him to go down during the process though

I wonder if this means it's down to the Pelicans and the Kings. Dallas and San Antonio can't compete in the money department and the Heat are looking at Camby.

I think we have a great chance at getting him now
Hope he has a good showing.

I'm sure the other teams' offers are still on the table, but if you can't find someone to send to Indy in July to watch him workout, then you can't be THAT interested. At least that's how it comes off to me.

Normally I wouldn't give the Pelicans much of a chance against the Heat or Spurs but if you're Oden there's a strong probability this might be the last contract you sign given your history of injuries. If the Pelicans can offer a few million more that might be a deciding factor.

Basically that he could have joined a team last year and collected a pay check but he considered it unethical.
makes me want him 100x more. a player that has a conscience
