Another selling point: NOLA is closer to Birmingham, AL and Dr James Andrews vs. Sac, Miami or Dallas.

So....Oden can have easy access to a quality surgeon for his 50th knee surgery.

We have that going for us.

@Deadspin 44m Report: Greg Oden will decide between the Heat and the Spurs. LINK

I'd put 0 stock into that article being that he can't even paraphrase the ESPN article he linked correctly.

quote:

According to ESPN.com, Oden will work out for three teams this week: the Heat, the Spurs, and the Pelicans.

ESPN Article he linked:
quote:

Sources told ESPN.com on Monday that the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings will all send representatives this week to watch Oden work out in person.

Until oden officially signs with a team I think we have 33% chance of signing him

Had a dream that Oden picked the Pels.

Strangely the hat he had in the PC was old Hornets colors, though.

I would love that I hope he realizes that his best chance to get playing time is in Nola, but I think he will do exactly what Nnamdi did to the saints and go to a team that was in the championship game

You didn't want Nnamdi.

Does everyone want this to happen now that we aren't giving up any players?

Everyone but Jester and Fun Bunch, I mean.

FWIW it's meeting day and everyone seems to be repeating the ESPN 3 team story rather than the Yahoo! 2 team tweet.

I want to sign Oden just so Jester will freak out. Couldn't even understand low risk high reward concept

Apparently Dell can though

I've said I was for this for awhile as long as we weren't giving any players up.

So get bent dickwad. Go back to not posting here, like you never did previous to this offseason.

Welcome to my world.

My apologies.

Hearing: San Antonio in process of withdrawing qualifying offer to Gary Neal, making Neal an unrestricted free agent and sure to speed exit

It looks like Neal was the 15th guy on the roster. Not necessarily related to Oden, but if they want to offer a contract to anybody someone had to be released. This could also just mean Corey Joseph jumped ahead of him on the depth chart and they did Neal a favor by releasing him.
