PC vs Console: Reality check in Grand Isle

Okay let me start by saying this.
I am better than most of you ppl on this board. Ever since childhood my mother told me to look down upon ppl. Carrying this from my youth I was always attracted to nice things. Soooo when the time came to choose between PC or consoles.. I went with PCs because it is simply the best.
This past weekend I spent time with the family in Grand Ilse, so no PC gaming for me. What I was forced to do during the day was play on a PS3 that stays at the camp. So during one of the many random daytime showers we would play some BLOPS2 to past time. It has been 2-3yrs since really playing a console game that was both on PC and PS3, what I couldn't get over were how bad the mechanics and graphics are in the game. Was shocked to see how shitty characters moved around unnaturally and low textured renderings of the whole game.
The thing i'm getting at is... the gap between PC and consoles is large, really large and if you believe those shtty console APUs in next gen rigs will shorten this.. put the kool aid down. The delta between the 2 platforms will stay at equal relation to each other and may actually INCREASE w/ more coders writing for x86. The premium price consolers pay for their consoles and games compared to PCs is really a lop sided ratio. You can outperform next gen consoles building a PC at the same price point, especially if you're buying into the XBOX ONE.
Maybe when late November rolls in here some of the consolers should give building a steam box/pc for the living room a thought. You would set yourself up for a better experience at the same price point.
EDIT:
Remember, this is a serious conversation.

And for all that "superiority" what does the PC offer that the console cannot? Mods and better graphics are the two that jump out at me. Games like Battlefield offer bigger maps and more players than the consoles can which is a legitimate incentive to play on PC vs console but that isn't the case for many games. I GF'd Crysis 3 on 360 and played through it and then watched a friend play some on a PC and it is the same game. Sure it looked a hell of a lot better on PC but to me that isn't enough to put the PC way above the console. I realize my example is anecdotal and that some may howl about console ports but that is the way the industry is currently structured.

my question is, how badass does your rig have to be to be considered part of the master race?

Just like with the 360 and PS3 (and Wii) there will be experiences on these new platforms that you won't be able to get on PC (unless we are talking about emulation far in the future).
If we are solely talking multiplatform games, then yeah, get it on PC. It will be better there. But, not everything is multiplatform.
The best solution is to game on every platform where you find interesting content, not to pick solely one side and wear it as some sort of meaningless badge.

It most cases: yes, yes, and yes.

That's why I have my pc and ps3

I would consider mods and graphics an overall plus for PC but KB/M is a preference. I don't get why people get so hung up on graphics, I didn't start gaming because things looked good I did it because it looked fun.

Before I clicked, I thought you were going to say that you had decided you like consoles better.

The other thing is there's just tons more games on PC vs console. Every now and then console will get a big game that's exclusive to it like Halo, Gears, Uncharted, Last of Us, etc but that doesn't outway the abundance of cheap and fun titles that you find everywhere on PC.
Just looking at the Steam Sale is evidence of that. So many great games that aren't on consoles. If there is an indie or arcade game on console then chances are it is on PC and has been for a while. The reverse can't be said.
As far as the mods, many of them are games in themselves like DayZ for example.
Consoles will never be close in terms of just raw fun content you can find for PC gaming.
I do agree that if you like games you shouldn't let what system they are on hold you back. As much as I hate PSN and the functionality of it, I am going to play The Last of Us soon.

I think mods are a much bigger plus than you are making them out to be. Like Stout said, a mod can be an entire game in and of itself. Mods can also make a good game into a great one solely by changing a few aspects to match the tastes of the player.
I don't think graphics are the end all, be all but if I have a choice between 2 (or more) versions of a game, I'm going to pick the graphically superior one.
KB/M is a preference, sure, but I don't know a single gamer who has played with both seriously, and still prefers the gamepad for FPS's.
Other genre's are more of a toss up, but I use a wired 360 controller or arcade stick on my PC for those.

These are few and far between. Some mods like DayZ hit it out of the park but I have seen a lot of shite mods that promise the world and never deliver.

I do. If you are talking about "seriously" playing then you see either controller vs controller or KB/M vs KB/M because there is an innate turning and accuracy advantage for the KB/M, it makes it a wash since you never see the two go head to head. Seems like a preference to me then.
