I don't buy into offseason champs either.
I buy into Cameron Wake.

Wake is a beast no doubt, i hope armstead is our own mini-wake

You have to look into the offseason champs history though. Because I agree with y'all.
But it's been typically teams with poor quarterbacking who think they can supplement him with surrounding pieces.
The Fins have a young up and comer who you have to view differently than Rex Grossman, Jason Campbell or a broken down Mike Vick.

Why would you place Cincy in the above tier over Miami? Just asking.
You mean other than the fact they made the playoffs in both of the last two seasons?

Beat me to it.
Miami on PAPER looks like a potential WC team.
But there are 7 legitimate playoff caliber teams in the AFC right now.
It will be tough.

And the Dolphins manhandled them physically in Cincy last year. The Bengals don't have to put up with one of the best QBs of all time in their division every year.

Hes even less proven as an NFL quarterback than all three of those guys, so i dont see your point

Do you know what up and comer means?

I would take facing Tom Brady twice over Ben Rothelisberger and Joe Flaco twice.

people watch preseason football?
Posted on 7/14/13 at 11:07 pm to wildtigercat93
Well of course he's not. I'm not trying to pretend he is.
But for Gods sake, give the kid a break for only having 19 starts in college as a QB, and then having to play as a rook with the most pedestrian group of weapons in the entire NFL.
And he still did pretty well!
And that's another dent in your "offseason champs" argument. What did you want Jeff Ireland to do? Ride with Brian Hartline as the #1 again?
They got him some good speed guys to go with a comfort blanket guy in Dustin Keller. So if he fails this year, then maybe we can talk. But this kid ain't Blaine Gabbert.

If the team you are a die hard of is playing, and you want to see which young guys flash, then hell yes we do.

What break did you want me to give him? I didnt call him a bad quarterback, just unproven. And citing his background compared to 3 established veterans doesnt really help your case
But if you wanna crown him, then crown his arse.

There are ways to improve your team without just throwing money into the wind.
im just betting on history pay me no mind its nothing personal.

Dude, i never called him a bad QB or even talked negatively of him im just saying being better than you expected him to be in 2012 does not guarantee him success for 2013 so no matter how many ways you want to cut it, he still has to prove himself, why are you so offended by that notion?
