You can visit your friends house you can log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good. But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.”

He also explained more about how the same system means you’ll never have to wait for games to install. Instead you can play instantly but still benefit from the faster loading and streaming from PS4's hard drive thanks to more background processes

I like to have sex and go outside.

What does digital library encompass? Games you purchased digitally or games tied to your account via retail and download?

Pretty legit, looking like I may actually get a ps4, eventually

This is a cool feature. I actually wish Steam would do something like this. There have been times I've wanted to show a friend a Steam game I own on their PC but there's no way I'd wait the 2 or so hours to download and install it.

This isn't a new feature FYI.
You can play any of your digital games now on both systems on any console as long as you log into your account.

Since when can I begin downloading and playing a game on a friend's console (or PC) before it's finished downloading?
If there's a current game ecosystem that does this, I want to know about it.

i really want to know how that'll work with any game other than a single player point A to B storyline, but maybe that's just me.

So I guess game sharing returns?

Even if that's the only circumstance in which it works, that's fine with me. Most of the games I play are single player affairs.
This would be a useful feature for me, regardless of platform. It's certainly not something I'd use constantly, but if I'm hanging out with a friend and want to show them a game I've been playing, it would be nice.

You are supposed to be a big time PS pole smoker so you should know PS3 already has it.

Plus, if you are waiting two hours to download a game you and your friends have some shitty internet.
FYI Xbox One has it too. Actually, Xbox allows you to switch between the TV and download instantly with the TV integration and will tell you when enough has been installed to play if I recall correctly.
Non news....next story please!
ETA My comment about consoles "having this now" was in response to the title which is...
They all have this ability now

, Xbox One takes it a step further with the TV integration and lets you switch to TV while downloading and will notify you when enough has been downloaded to play if I recall correctly.

Your TV and remote will tell you when your PS4 has downloaded enough of the game to play while you are watching a show?

Gotcha...
BTW, love the downplaying of the added Xbox features of play while downloading after you started a thread jacking off over it only to find out it's a non issue since both have it and One takes it a small step further.
Good job.

What are you talking about? You go from not having any idea who I am a couple of days ago to claiming I'm a Sony fanboy now...based off of what?

From what I've read "The Last of Us" is over 50 GB. I don't know precisely how long it would take to download a game that size, but I could see it taking 2 hours. I'm just guessing, though.

If Xbox One has this feature too, then great. I'm glad I'll be able to use it when I get one. I hadn't heard that. I'll have to look that up.
When you said "They all have this now" I thought you meant "now" as in the consoles that are out right now. And I thought you were referring to the entire post, not just the title.
I think it's okay to get excited about a feature a future console will have, regardless of which one it is.
