Finally decided to start Skyrim back up

Quit a while back when I was around level 20 or so.
Started the game back up yesterday and I'm having an overwhelmingly abundant amount of freezing problems. Never had these problems before last time I played the game (many months ago). There doesn't appear to be any scratches on the disk. I googled and saw this was a common thing? I tried the advice I found online, clearing system cache, game cache, pruning saves, disabling autosaves, etc. The few times I'm able to make it past the start screen the game freezes about a minute or so in. Once it went about 30 minutes before freezing, but since then its been pretty consistently early.
Haven't checked in on this board in a while, was this a common issue? Was anyone able to fix it?
Thanks, just shooting in the dark here.
ETA: Don't have freezing problems on any other game.

Have you installed the game on your hard drive? That might help.

Currently doing that now.
That was the only thing left I could think of. Short of returning the game, trying to get a new copy, and hoping for dumb luck.

I'm planning to pick it up again during during the Summer sale. I've also been playing it on the Xbox awhile.
First mod I plan to download

seams like more of a game to play in the winter.

Quite an odd response, but it makes sense for some reason. I haven't played since January or February.

idk, it's just kind of a cloudy dark game, and mid-evil times always look cold.

i wish they wouldnt of abandoned the game. they claimed 2-3 big dlc, and a couple small dlc's.
dragonborn was a big dlc(excellent dlc in fact)
vampire dlc was not big, and was mediocre, felt unfinished and rushed to appease the people who whined on the forums about dlc.
hearthfire was meh, especially since it is flawed, and many cannot purchase the 3rd house to build.
Another big dlc, say hammerfell, or even one with the argonians, would of completed the game.
too much left in limbo, what the fark happens to your dragonborn and hermeas mora? your his beyatch now, and game ends. eh!
i'm starting to realize why some people liked oblivion more, feels more complete, not a ton of loose strings.

I got up to lv 18ish when the 1st and 3rd person views started to glitch. I haven't played it since.
