NBA Age Limit

From 19 to 21 for a few reasons.
1. Players enter the league more mentally mature. They have had three years of dealing with the press, coaches and teammates. Most importantly they have had an opportunity to be young and make kid mistakes without being the lead story on Sportscenter
2. Players enter the league with a more mature game. Now it normally takes players two or three years after they enter the league to develop. The concept of an "impact rookie" is basically dead. LeBron is the only p;ayer I can think of who player at an ALL Star level their rookie year with 0-1 years of college.
3. Marketing. Marketing. Marketing. Players do not develop a following with a college fanbase or a region after playing only one year. It takes a few years. Shaq ia tied to this region and LSU in a way the Derrick Rose or Kevin Durant are not tied to their respective universities because they stayed only 1 year. You used to be able to watch an NBA game remember most of the starters from college. That connection with March Maddness and the casual fan is gone.

Should be no age limit.

The NBA should go to a baseball style system. You can go pro right out of high school, or you can go to college and wait at least two years to enter the draft.
They could also use a minor league system. There are a lot of major cities without an NBA team that would be solid homes for a AAA team--St Louis, Kansas City, Nashville, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Vancouver, etc. AA teams could be in college towns.

Nothing you said is a bad idea.
Personally, I'd prefer a 21 age limit. The NBA will not go back to high school age limit, the age limit has been a roaring success.

They have that, it's called the D-League. They also use European leagues to develop and find talent.

It all sounds logical, but based on the constitution and fairness, 18 should be the age limit. If it were up to me, I would make it so if you are under 2 years from high school, you have to be drafted in the lottery or go to college/elsewhere for 2 years. Having a one size fits all approach is totally stupid. Some players can immediately contribute. However, it wouldn't have hurt anything for Lebron to go to college. The bottom line is people should be able to make money doing what they are best at.

I think Durant and Rose are doing just fine in the marketing department

Wrong

Applying the college baseball rules will kill college basketball's relevance. They'll never do it.

This is what I wish they would adopt except I would make it three years of college. That and raise max pay of d league guys to 75,000

College baseball rules are the only ones that make sense at this point. Either go pro out of high school or stay for 2-3 yrs. whatever baseball does.

They are. But David Robinson, Hill, Latter and Shaq were more popular with the casual fan when they came out of college.
