Nitwit, you are comparing laser times to handheld times. Therefore, your argument is inherently flawed as hand timed 40's are typically .1 to .15. When Garrett comes to LSU camp and runs (if he runs) a sub 4.7 at 230 pounds will you be happy?

I will be thrilled if Garrett's times improve.
If you take the time to read my posts, I am not against him in any way. I hope we get him.
The times on most of the top ILBs recruits this year are a
Little slower, it seems than some past years. Look at Daub's time, too.
Just one nitwit's opinion, but maybe no ILB recruit this year deserved five star, elite billing.

The only reason Garrett looks good on tape is because it seems like every play the offense just forgets to block him.
Good to see you back posting. Missed you while you were hibernating (spelling). You're one of the ones I look for when it comes to recruiting.
Where do you get all that info? Do you have a day job?

Ali ran over a 4.90 at the combine. Something like a 4.97. Brandon Spikes also ran around the same as Highsmith. Those guys were very smart and instinctive football players.

I bet that no one on this board can run a sub 5.0 40.

I care about quickness a lot more than speed for most positions...OL...DL...LB...QB...TE Obviously strength is in those also but we are talking 40 times so I will stay on topic.
IMO, 40 times to be relevant assume you will run more than say 20 yards on a play (rarely happens for the positions listed above). That usually narrows it down to RBs, WRs, safeties, and corners. Garrett explodes on a tackle and is strong. I will freely admit that if a clever RB or WR decides to run 20 yards backward and then to the sideline and then 20 yards back to the LOS, Garrett will look bad on that type of pursuit.
