How come?

Beausoleil or Stroubes are good.

A romantic place would be great but great food and a place she hasn't been to yet is maybe a little mor important to me. Like I put a little more effort into choosing it than going with the obvious.

Sounds good. I love Beausoleil, just didn't want you going in with a different expectation.
ETA: Latil's still blows everything else out of the water for an anniversary dinner.

Have you ever been to Texas de Brazil?
I would be pretty upset if someone took me there for my anniversary.

Personally my list for local and somewhat romantic is Latil's, Maison Lacour, Stroubes, and then probably Roberto's. Roberto's being a less expensive option.
The wife will love the whole experience at Latils and Maison Lacour. latils has way more atmosphere, but a little more of a drive.
Stroubes is a cool scene, but still can be romantic. More action, but not loud.
Roberto's has an awesome atmosphere and stays quiet like the first two on the list. More laid back.
Latils and Maison lets your wife have a reason to dress up really nice and feel special. Just saying, it goes a long way.

Went to maison lacour for last anniversary... Wasn't impressed at all.. I made a thread about it, check it out if you like.
Hard to beat jubans, ruffinos, Ruth's or Flemings.
Mansurs good as well.

Wife/gf, all the same. Although the sexy time is more guaranteed.
Since it isn't a huge anniversary then yeah, Stroubes would be fine. For me Bouselieu is not really special, kind of a general Tuesday night kind of feel.
Roberto's fits because it isn't something that people go to often, sort of out of the way. Fun trip down river road and the casino give you something to do afterwards if you are looking for something to do.

Or hell, not even young. Just on a smaller budget than all the ballers out there.

We have all been there dude, Latils is pretty far up there for the occasion. Although Stroubes is about the same price if you are going all out.

Beausoleil is a great place, IMO. I can see where some of the other suggestions are a little more quiet and romantic, but if she's never been there, she will certainly be pleased. The dinner menu is impressive and the vibe can be fun.
Couple of good friends live in the subdivision across the street, so that's their normal drinking spot. I can see where they wouldn't consider it for an anniversary.. since they get drunk in there several times a week.
But it's a very impressive spot that can make for a great time. They do a good job on the cocktails too.. inform your GF of that if y'all go.
I have Maison Lacour and Latil's on my list of places to try, but being young like you, it will only happen for a special occasion and if finances allow. The tasting menu at Latil's is like $150/person. Obviously, you don't have to do the tasting, but if I'm going to make the drive someday, I want to have the spare money and go for the tasting menu.

Exactly, but those look like they will have to wait.
Thinking Beausoleil is the go to for this one

Did you consider Nino's?

That is where I wanted to suggest at first, but I think I read the other day on here that they are closed this week for vacation.

Thanks. That sounds familiar now that you mention it.
