I care that LSU baseball was one of eight teams to reach the CWS and if you don't, that only proves you are a spoiled, idiot type fan.

Heres another example of a fan happy that we were sent home without winning a game in the CWS. Go root for Harvard or Yale! You would fit right in!

You can be a spoiled, stupid fan if you want, but I'm able to be disppointed in our CWS play and still be pleased LSU baseball's season reached the CWS.

Fans who see anything less than a championship as a failed season are D-bag material and the team is better off without you.

In college football, there are several bowls that a team can win and feel accomplished. That's fine, and a reason I love college football - the season doesn't too often feel like a worthless season.

In baseball, it's different. There is ONLY the CWS. Win it all, or your just a team that was in the way of the team that did. A failure of reaching the ultimate goal. Thus, a failure of a season.

It's sad, but it's the nature of the sport.

I disagree. I think North Carolina was more talented than LSU. They had better depth at starting pitcher than LSU, and they didn't have a starting CF batting under .200. After Nola, LSU was just hopeful that Eades or Glenn would not collapse against quality opponents. LSU's bullpen was there to bail them out on most occasions since the LSU offense would usually produce enough runs to overcome the meltdown by Eades or Glenn, but North Carolina had enough quality pitching to prevent it in the elimination game.

Sport is entertainment. I was entertained. Thus, not a failure.

The most wins in Tiger baseball history. Thus, not a failure.

Just because YOU see it as a failed season doesn't mean it IS a failed season.

Nope, tied '97 team, who also had 57 wins. :\ And THEY won the championship.

Pot odds that you were less than 10 years old in '97.

1:1

ETA: And didn't live in LA at the time, either. But I'm glad to see that the only way you can "win" arguments is through ad hominem attacks.

Plenty of people hit UCLA pitching. They just couldn't hit it out of the Steppe that is the TDA outfield.

This

Our baseball team will have a shot at the title every season. Most baseball programs don't have that luxury.

Pretty pathetic to upvote your own posts. My point is that you know absolutely nothing about the '97 team vs. this team...yet you talk in absolutes. The CWS was entirely different animal then. There's no way you can compare the two.

The CWS is now a perfect storm of pitchers ball, with high seams, deadened bat, an outfield obviously designed with pre 2010 cbb in mind and strike zones that awarded breaking balls that never got near the strike zone. It is a aberrant animal unlike the entire rest of the cbb season. It was ridiculous and the development is sad.
