Yeah strange how he went from LFC player of the year to the bench. Hopefully it was a fluke, and he'll come back to form. Kolo can be the stop-gap until either that, or Kelly is ready to step up. Either way, if that can act as a solution to the sieve-like defense, we should be good to go this year. God knows we can score the goals, we just need to find a way to keep them out. A healthy and more in form Lucas will certainly help too.

Lucas healthy is a key. Got to have that backbone from back to front solid, healthy and in form.

His injury issues have also thrown the mid into disarray. I don't mind Allen filling that role but the club is better through the middle when Lucas Is healthy and holding.

Gonna need to figure out a long term answer for CB. Toure is. Depth signing an expecting him to give big mins is just asking for troubles.

Not exactly. Change of system. Under Kenny the line was much deeper and the fullbacks attacked a lot less. Skrtel was so successful in it because there was naturally a lot less emphasis on individual positioning. He could make a mistake and be covered rather easily.

He struggles in 1v1 situations, which is something Rodgers' system has highlighted. With Johnson and Enrique often in the opposition's third of the pitch, Skrtel is exposed. He lacks pace and his tactical positioning is very poor. Agger is a world class centre-back, but he isn't a great partner in a high line system. He lacks pace as well, but makes up for it in decision making and defensive positioning. He needs to be paired with someone who complements him in that regard. Someone who is tactically equivalent. Skrtel isn't and Agger can't cover for him (see: West Brom, first match of the season).

Carragher was much more successful in the system because of his football IQ. Skrtel will beat him in every physical category, yet Carragher played much better than him.

I would like to see Sterling tomorrow too. Ibe as well.
