I think Bradley is just about world class and only 26 right now so he has 5-6 years of excellent play left in him. And Jozy is only 23, so he has basically a decade left. In terms of younger guys, I think Alejandro Guido, Luis Gil, and Jose Villareal are all very good, but none have the hype of Landon Donovan or DaMarcus Beasley at the same age.
I don't think it is that important to have a single world class player though. If we could have a Dempsey at 8 positions, we could contend for the World Cup.
I think all of the guys I mentioned could play for Mexico, but I don't think it will be an issue. When you look at who we lost, the best players are Rossi and Subotic, but the next group are guys who we didn't even consider, guys who were late bloomers, and guys with weak ties to the US (Subotic would qualify for the last category as well) like Ibisevic and Movsisyan. Now all of those guys are great soccer players who would make the final US roster, but we don't really lose out on of a ton stars that we want. I do wnat to see Mix play in the Gold Cup though so he will be locked up for the US.
No one knows, but my guess is soccer and lacrosse will grow in popularity.

Also, what youngsters have the potential to be huge contributors to the mnt that have not yet decided to represent the US due to possibly playing for another county?

And finally, if American football continues to have troubles with brain injuries in the decades to come, will any of these tremendous athletes, that would have once gravitated towards football, find their way onto a pitch?

Or maybe the military could send more black guys to Germany

We are taking a quality side to Brazil, but we're a long way from an American superstar.
This is what I assumed. It does feel that the popularity of the sport is continuing to grow among younger generations due in large part to the simple fact that these top league matches are available all over now. It just seems that for the sport to truly explode over here we are going to need a world class american player that opens eyes to just how massive this sport actually is. I'm optimistic that it will happen in my lifetime.

Cristiano Ronaldo's son is American
ETA: He will take after his mom and be the best dishwasher this side of the Atlantic.
or take after his dad and be the best American ever.

We're starting to have more generations were the parents played and they make soccer a priority alongside basketball, football, baseball, etc.

I played year round. I hope my kid loves the game like I do. I don't think he'll have much choice living at my house though.

I laughed really fricking hard at this in the quiet movie theater.
Thanks to all for the info. I have quite a few names I can look into now. I'm fairly well versed in the senior squad, but when it comes to the under 20's I pretty much have no clue. So thanks again.

The question in the OP is inherently flawed. It's impossible to predict which players will be world class until they are much older.

Fair enough, but I think you understand what I was getting at.

I know he's no Ronaldo but does anyone know what Patrick Mullins has been doing since he just won the Hermann trophy. I assume he has high hopes.

Didn't Tom Brady have a boy with Gissele? I know Tom can't run worth a shite but maybe he didn't pass along that gene.

Anybody know any more about Cristiano's baby momma? Did he just knock this chick up and pay her off or something? I know he has custody of the kid. UA mentioned something about her being a dishwasher but I'm not sure if that was sarcasm.
