Does anybosy know why the Storm Chasers dont play in this park?

what is the TD Ameritrade used for when its not the CWS?

I want to know this too. It seems like a crazy thing to do for Omaha to fund a new park like that and not reap any of the benefits that only a team affiliated with a big league club could bring.
That is unless the NCAA gave Omaha an ultimatum of build the new park or the CWS is gone.

I don't think the NCAA had any choice really the Zoo was expanding and needed the space.

We had great pitching & piss poor hitting & fielding. The fielding look like kiddie ball.

didn't like to vibe. no breeze, most homeruns die in the wasteland of the outfield. the locals now seem more about beach balls and right field sucks chants. its a social event for them, to much to do in the new park. the only ones watching the games are the real fans.

TD Ameritrade wanted to charge them an astronomical rent price. That coupled with being exiled for 2 weeks, they decided it would be better off moving to suburbs where suburban county would build them a smaller stadium
Creighton, a UFL team, and concerts are what it is used for in the meantime

The one's I talked to liked the stadium but would have much rathered still be playing in Rosenblatt.

I went to Rosenblatt in 2003 and was in awe of the atmosphere. Just like walking into Tiger Stadium, you could feel the energy and knew the place was special.
Getting rid of Rosenblatt was a terrible decision.
Couldn't agree more.

Been that way for a while. The outfield is loaded with teenagers and youth ballplayers. Of course they're more interested in fooling around than watching the game... and "too much to do"... like what? Buy concessions just like you could at Rosenblatt..

I beg to differ. The problem is no one is really hitting well at TD Ameritrade park. Run production is at an all time low. Fans will soon find other ways to enjoy an evening rather than watching pitchers give up flyouts due to throwing soft changeups to entice flyballs.
Two homers in 10 games is ridiculous.
I would agree with leaving the bats as they are if the NCAA will adopt using the Major League ball.

The locals loved RB, but the tourists and NCAA thought it and that part of town was a dump. The new stadium and 1 mile around are pristine.

The localers do not like the new stadium whatsoever. We heard a lot of localers gripe about how it's taken away the local aspect of the series when we were up there.

I miss Rosenblatt. I hate TDAS.

I bet the older folks prefer Rosenblatt, but if you're young resident or out of towner, you really can't beat the new area vs the old neighborhood. Sure, it's lost the local charm, but while I'm young I'll take the proximity to bars, restaurants, and hotels any day.

It's a very nice stadium. However, if we don't either change the balls or the bats in college baseball, being a nice stadium doesn't really mean much.
I just got back from Omaha. I watched several games including ones LSU didn't play in. My feeling is that it has nothing to do with the balls--they were common to every team all year and I don't think it was a problem. The trouble lies in teams playing all year in stadiums with one set of dynamics and then advance to the tournament to determine the national championship and play in a stadium with a different dynamic to the point of altering the out come of games. There were several shots that should have been home runs in games having nothing to do with LSU.
Just an observation. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Well my dad went every year from 1991 to 2009 (every year not just when LSU played) and enjoyed the hell out of it. He skipped 2010,2011 and 2012 and made his return this year. He pretty much said he's done with going. Just lost the feel he enjoyed. He said it was rocking as usual when LSU was playing but it just lost some atmosphere somehow. He goes with a group of guys and it was split about 50/50 if they wanted to return next year.
I have gone 3 times and met him up there in various years when LSU was playing. I guess I'll decide again when LSU goes back.

The Storm Chasers tried to negotiate, but the expense was prohibitive and Sarpy County proposed building their own smaller stadium that they would have priority in, so... Werner Park is used for some high school games and they've had a few concerts too in order to support it. And the Storm Chasers have had pretty decent success in the more intimate, kid friendly stadium on the opposite side of town.
TD Ameritrade is home for Creighton baseball. You can have an entire section to yourself at most of those games, except when they play UNL. They also had a music festival there the last two years but had it the end of July when the heat is BRUTAL out there with no shade. Some of the acts were on stages in the parking lots. Except for the headliners who played in the evenings, you could count the people attending on your fingers. I think they've given up.
