This is a great pick up for Johnny Jones. The only bad thing about it is he's not eligible for what should be a great season starting in just a few months.

Very nice to get him. Will be an instant impact next year.

Hornsby is a solid pickup for LSU. I've seen him play a few times. He's not flashy, but when he's hot he can fill up the nets from 3. May not become a starter, but will be a quality sub at either guard position off the bench. He'll enjoy having teammates taller than 6'7" playing center and forward, that's for sure.

I'd be curious to see if Dale Brown played any role in Hornsby's recruitment. I remember reading about the friendship between Dale Brown/Bill Walton/and Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. I imagine that DB was familiar, if not friends with Bruce Hornsby from his years of touring with the Dead, so I wonder if that played a part in his recruitment...
