TD Ameritrade Park....What's the big deal about the dimensions?

This stadium is only 5 feet longer at the foul poles, 10 feet longer at the power alleys, and 3 feet longer at straight away center than Alex Box Stadium.
I heard an interview from the Creighton Head Baseball Coach on Sirius and he said only 2 HR's had been hit in the stadium all season. How is that?

the long distances combined with the heavy wind that usually blows straight in.

Hmm, well alright. I guess that makes sense.

From a physics guy, adding just 10 feet to the alley's adds a lot of space from the outfield to cover. From a HR perspective, 10 feet + where the stadium is (in a small valley) + the wind blowing in most of the time = few HRs.

The wind is a huge factor. And also defensively now, outfielders are forced to cover much more ground.

Good thing we have 3 center fielders

Who's the third?

Just meant that whoever is in the outfield is fast enough and athletic enough to play centerfield

On the bench

10 feet in the power alleys is a significant difference. How many home runs have we seen go JUST over those in alex box? Those are caught or doubles in TD Ameritrade more times than not.
Not to mention our park typically has helpful wind. TD Ameritrade doesnt have helpful wind it seems.
This could all be a non-factor if we still used BESR bats which made college have basically the same "power" numbers as mlb does in the home runs department.

actually the deminsions have nothing to do with the complaining. Yes its big but here are two reasons TD Ameritrade seems like a bigger stadium than the blatt. (which it is not)
1. the bats make every stadium seem bigger than it really is. This is the dead bat era.
2. the direction of the stadium has changed. I've only been to the stadium once but I believe the wind blows mostly in from right or right to left. In the Blatt if the wind blew mostly in that direction that means it would be blowing out towards left at the blatt
so 1 the ball doesn't fly off the bat like it use to and 2 the wind knocks down most of the balls in this park.
translate this park seems to big, when it is the same dimensions of the blatt. If you remember correctly a Texas team who had not been a home run team all year hit solo shot after solo shot.

to add on to this Creighton plays in the Missouri Valley conference not exactly the best representation of college baseball there.

Dude... I just noticed you lived in PNG.
My son will be a senior (starting MLB) for the NDN's this fall. We just moved here last August.
and apparently, both our wives have magnificent racks

Heard an interview with an Omaha sports writer about the new park. The architects who designed it wanted the fans to have a view of the Omaha skyline, so they reversed the direction of the field. That aligns it so that the prevailing win in the summer blows in from left and center field.
Rosenblatt pointed the opposite direction, so the prevailing wind blew out towards left and center. Apparently, the wind blows a lot in Nebraska in the summer, so it makes the new stadium play much bigger.
