So who among us is a true pels fan and will be rooting for a divisional rival that ended our best playoff run to win a fricking title?
I know the heat have taken up residence in a lot of posters' heads lately, but you are godawful if it's so bad that you actively root for a dvisional rival gets yet another title.
I don't care if you root for the Heat. You don't have to, and there's nothing wrong with not rooting for them, but frick the Spurs.
TIA.

Plus I suspect that we're more likely to see Timmy retire if they win.

Spurs winning reinforces the San Antonio model we are supposedly trying to emulate.
Spurs winning knocks LeBron down a peg for those that have a dog in the GOAT fight.
Spurs winning is substance beating sizzle in an era where we're told you need the big name FAs to contend.
Spurs winning might make Duncan/Pop more likely to retire thus opening a hole for the Pelicans.
Spurs winning might make CP3 and Dwight less likely to want to form a Big 3 possibly in our own division.
There are a great many reasons to want the Spurs to win that have nothing to do with "rooting for a rival"

Timmay, Ginobili, Pop...they all have to retire at some point, right?

Wut?

I'm a bigger Bulls fan...so go Spurs

Sorry, brah, even though they broke my heart in the Western semi's, I still admire the Spurs organization, its coach and its team. I'm pulling for them.

and yes going out on top may give Duncan the push to retire.
and yes it may make cp3 and Dwight want to go to an east team instead of the rockets who would own our division with those two

I don't think this thread went like he expected.

That's not rooting for the Spurs, that rooting for Jordan. And I'm not saying I agree with all of the reasons listed, just that there are reasons that have nothing to do with supporting your rival. I personally am rooting for the Spurs because I like the Mexican food in San Antonio better than the Cuban food in Miami.

No, it did.
Given the terrible attendance, low brand recognition, and overall lack of buzz, excitement and passion about the Pelicans, it's not really that surprising our teams "fans" are ready to jump on a rival team's bandwagon because they don't like a player on the opposing team.

I guess we all can't be superfans like you

In this instance, you have to give respect where it's deserved. Spurs aren't flashy and have a great team with the best coach in the league. Beat the Heat!

Spurs are the lesser of two evils.
And I can't stand Wade's floppin arse. I also would like to see Bosh's sissy arse break down and cry like a hoe again.
