Alex Bregman now has 102 hits on the season, most all-time by an LSU Freshman.

He is only 9 hits away from breaking Brandon Larson's LSU record of 110 set back in 1997.

He is now batting .385 on the season, the highest BA for a Freshman since Todd Walker hit .400 back in 1992.

His 52 RBIs is second on the team behind Mason Katz and is only 1 behind last season's team leader, Raph Rhymes who had 53 in 2012.

As a SS, he doesn't have too much competition in LSU history as Freshman are concerned. Todd Walker, JC Holt, and Mike Fontenot had outstanding Freshman seasons but all of them are Second Baseman.

He also has 265 At Bats in 2013, most AB for an LSU player since 2009. The record for AB in a season is 293 held by Ryan Patterson in 2004.

That kid is damn good. So glad he won't be able to leave for at least a couple years!

I wish he would have been able to play 2B...which is his natural position and most likely his position in the Majors. Maybe next year with Jones leaving, he slides over to 2B and Ibarra slides back to SS.

I would like him to be more patient at the plate.

Bregman is awesome, but he needs to let the outfielders do their job. Not only did he and raph get hurt, it has caused confusion on a couple of plays that could cost us against better teams.

Best hitting shortstop. I don't think he plays the position as well as Nola did in 2009.

I agree with everything you're saying, and he was the MOP of the Regional, but why on earth would he go away from what got him here?

Why go to batting gloves, no stirrups, and long pants at this point in the season??????????????
