You cant have the rep of being the toughest place to play without them. Havent you heard the stories of bear Bryant having to wear a helmet and stuff like that? It wasnt the wine and cheese corporate crowd throwing whiskey bottles at him.
Something to be proud of right there.

Along with that you also get a half empty stadium by the 3rd quarter. Personally i'd rather LSU do what LSU does best-throw a rowdy party on saturday nights.
And im fine with that. The team doesn't need the crowd against someone they are a 21 point favorite against. When they play Bama, UF and aTm the crowd is their and loud....and Busch Beer Jim Bob isnt there with his Wal Mart shirt telling me how stupid Les Miles is because he doesnt run something he runs on NCAA '08 all the time.

For those whose season ticket seats are between the 20's in the lower bowl (which would include mine) the Athletic Department should threaten non-renewal if the seats are not occupied until at least midway through the 4th quarter for more than half the home games during the season. Or make it over the course of 2 consecutive seasons if you want to be more liberal.
Modern photographic technology is more than adequate for enforcement. Easy to take snapshots at 10-minute intervals to allow for the seat being empty due to bathroom and concession stand runs.

Oh, he's there. Just doesnt stand out as much when all the other fans stay the whole game.

To be fair people are going to always find excuses.
If traffic issues were eliminated, people would still have to get cranky kids home early during slow night games. Others live far and want to get a head start.
People leave day games early because they are too hot, and usually versus weaker teams (with the exception of CBS games).
If they sold beer, people would still leave in the 4th quarter because that is when beer sales typically end.
I'd be willing to bet that there is a pretty average percentage across the country that leave games early.
I personally don't see the logic in leaving most games early, but it is also a family tradition to stay until the end.

-Better cell service
-Smoking area
-more fans in the concourses (to cool off when hot/humid)
-TVs in concourse showing other games besides LSU
The majority of the time when I leave it's because I: a)need to smoke...b)I'm hot/dehydrated/need air...c)there's another game I really wanna watch more than ours

Play a more exciting brand of football. Winning with all defense and no offense is just so frustrating. Combine frustration with alcohol and I'm so pissed by the 4th quarter that I just don't care to watch anymore.
Then don't.. Go support Oregon or another pansy arse pac12 team
This is the most idiotic thing I've read on this board in quite some time... mother of god, this isn't NCAA 2014 - you're not gonna put up 60+ points every game and have 450+ yards passing to go along with 3 RBs having 100+ yards rushing... Defense wins championship.. Deal with it...
You'd be the same A hole who'd be in here crying about defense if we played the same style of football that's played on the west coast (excluding Stanford somewhat)

Speaking of high-flying offenses....You know what Oregon, West Virginia, and Texas A&M all have in common?

Bring JJ back for one more year.

Why do our pussy fans need to be enticed into remaining in the stadium? Isn't the fact that LSU is playing one of its few annual home games reason enough to stay until the end? Jesus.

Why does it matter, come, go, stay, whatever. I wait all year for it and I don't give a damn what someone else does.....it has nothing to do with my enjoyment

i seriously believe the problem here are the tv time outs. how long is the average LSU home game? 3-3.5 hours? and the game, itself, where the clock is running is exactly 1 hour. the fact is that tripling the total game time fatigues everyone: the drunks get less drunk, kids get cranky, students get bored and horny, smokers want to go smoke, etc.
hypothetically, if the game was 2-2.5 hours instead of 3-3.5 hours, i think that way more people would stay and the experience would be way more intense and universally appreciated.

I've never left early. But when I go to a game, I'm only going for the game . I'm not a fan of tailgating, so I usually park a little over an hour before kickoff on river Road and walk to my seat.
