I duck hunt primarly with one guy on several small farm ponds. I literally trust him with my life and the lives of my family. We will shoot late flyers as we are picking up decoys sometimes (both out of the blind rarely over each others heads). Hell we have sat on opposite sides of the 7 acre lake we hunt (200 yards apart) duck hunting before. We identify our muzzle swing limits prior to shooting hours and abide by them. I would never do this with any other hunter.
Do yall think we are crazy?
You have obviously never hunted in Catahoula lake, and or seen a "suicide blind" set up out there.

Never have a wedding during hunting or football season in Louisiana.

90% of my near accident accidents I think somehow revolve around the discovery and attack of bitching wasps
I climbed a ladder stand once just to check the shooting lanes. Had no intention of sittign an hunting, did not wear a harness (I dont normally in a ladderstand anyway), lowered the seat and had 7 red wasps attack. All I could do was climb down while the bastards were stinging me. That is after initally regaining my balance from nearly falling

yeah, i flipped the boresack that was rolled up over the door opening, down when i got up there, wasp heaven was inside that boresack... i think i ran down the vertical ladder from about 12 ft high.

no when it comes to duck hunting I am a bit spoiled and disadvantaged all at once.
hunts are quick and easy with little prep or set up but the # of ducks is minimal with few greenheads.

Luckily I heard my rod fall and look over with the beagle chomping at my jig. She was about to swallow it(twss) and I grabbed the line and set the hook in her lip. Chaos with a mom and gf there at the time.
Mom: to the vet
Gf: I agree
Me: I got this
Moments later the hook was out and dog was fine.

My brother got married on the Idaho game last September. At least he had the presence of mind not to schedule it on an SEC game.
They originally had it planned for the bye week but something happend and they had to move it up.
Salmon got married the first Saturday in October a couple of years ago and didn't realize his wedding anniversary would perpetually conflict with opening of hunting season. I just shake my head at that man sometimes.

Be aware of widowmakers when hunting on breezy days.

Everybody forgets to put the plug in once. Make sure it stays just once and hopefully near the launch.

In ANY state for that matter! I know a guy that got married on the night of the SEC championship game last season. I did not attend.

Keep the volume up when using walkie talkies. Safety > stealth all day.
Bring a flashlight even if you don't plan on being out at dark.

This doesn't happen with a lot of people but I never mix alcohol and firearms.

Compass and a good quality flashlight every time you head out. Having at least minimum knowledge of the geography of your area is crucial. Better to have too many clothes than not enough.

If you are going to climb in a tree to hunt...spend 100.00 and get a good quality safety harness.
^^^This. I've had 2 back surgeries since January, and found out today I will have to have a 3rd in the future, all because I wasn't wearing a safety vest.

If you are flyfishing and its windy don't try to cast with the wind blowin into you casting arm. If you must cast to that side learn to cast backwards.
Flies that stick in ears hurt.
Also, always wear glasses when flyfishing. They protect your eyes.

The more I hear about fly fishing the less I wanna try it.

Don't use a climbing stand on a tree that's on an angle.

Always keep a couple of cans of beenie weenies, a BIC lighter, and a roll of toilet paper in your boat.
