I'm curious what amassed advice the OB can offer up specific to our passions to keep novices safe. Also what questions we may have that others can answer concerning safety issues.
Ex.
Never wrap fishingline or braid around your hand or finger when trolling or fishing for large fish. If the line gets caught in the prop or simply pulled by a big fish it will cut deeply.
Always have a sidearm when tracking a wounded hog. Un-injured they are likely to run away but injured they will try to attack.
Questions,
Can stingray injuries be prevented with shoes/clothing when wading similar to the utility of snake boots?

Then I would not track it.
ETA: even with CCL?

Always be aware of where your hook is, similar to always know where the muzzle of your gun is.
If you see a snake and you can't tell if it's poisonous or not, it's poisonous.

this!!
-when fishing or hunting inland from a boat(assuming you are in phone range, which at least in SELA i generally have found that i am), your cell phone is normally your best survival option in case of a bad outdoor emergency (wrecked or overturned boat, getting stranded). so keep it dry, in a ziplock or get a waterproof case or whatever. don't just put it in your pocket like normal. consider keeping an old cell phone in double-ziplocks in your boat so you can make an emergency call from it.
ETA: if you are hunting or fishing a lot outside of phone range, consider getting a VHF radio or an EPIRB. (i would consider this mandatory for offshore fishing).
-if fishing or hunting in cold weather from a boat, keep a change of clothes on board, preferably in a waterproof bag or in double large ziplocks. and ponchos. hypothermia and drowning kill hunters every year.

Dont ever debone and butcher venison or other wild game while drinking heavily and watching monday nighht football.
It leads to very deep cuts on the fingers.

If you are going to climb in a tree to hunt...spend 100.00 and get a good quality safety harness.

Shuffle your feet when wade fishing instead of lifting your feet up to walk.

A sharp knife is safer than a dull knife because you will use it correctly.
When cutting with a knife you may push it away as long as nothing important is in front of the blade, and you may pull it toward yourself as long as you only bend at the wrist or rotate with your shoulder, otherwise your elbow should remain locked and shoulder relatively fixed and you will never cut yourself.

Carry a compass (and know how to use it) when hunting new lands. A compass never loses signal.

Unload your weapon before ascending and descending from an elevated stand.
