He's bigger than most offensive and defensive linemen I played with and against in high school. That was also 5A. I can see him being a RB even if he grows to be 6'3.

Watched Parkview today. Meh...
East Ascension pretty much did what they wanted against them. Spring Games are Spring Games, though. PBS doesn't have any Brumfield's or Brossette's though.

Good highlights - I'm sure the Cubs will be loaded with Brossette and Moses this year. My kids went to ZHS (last one graduating Tuesday) so I have kept up with them the past several yrs. The offense that I saw in that film did not resemble the ones from past seasons under Weiner. The starting QB, WR, and RBs graduated so this may be a rebuilding or reloading yr for the Broncos. One thing you did see is that ZHS has some good linemen - last yr they went about 280 - 300 across the offensive front. I am not sure what they have in the offensive skill positions coming back. Defense was their weakness last year.
In summary I think you can be pleased with your sons performance and exposure to the prime time in HS football. ZHS went toe to toe with Acadiana last season in the playoffs in a game where 108 total points were scored in regulation.
If you really want a good test go scrimmage West Monroe this fall... Good Luck with the Cubs!

You are not very knowledgeable of ZHS. First ZHS did not get beat by 40-50 pts last season in the playoffs. They stuck about 45 pts on Acadiana last year at AHS. Problem was AHS put 63 up on the board.
Also, can you name the team ZHS has played the last three yrs in the playoffs - yes, I said team as in singular. Acadiana - away, away, and away. Results for AHS state runner up, State Champ, and state qtrs...
ZHS must not be very good since their season ended in the state 5A playoffs each season...

Hi guys, I want to start off by saying I'm a longtime lurker, first time poster here. Anyways, here's some of my observations from the scrimmage.
Before I get into details about Brumfield, Brossette, and Moses, I want to say that the star of yesterday's spring game was Manny Miles. His accuracy was fairly on point whether he was in the pocket or on the run. I believe he had three TD passes (two deep go routes to Davonte Dotson) and around a 15 yard tuck and run for a touchdown. He made several throws along the sideline through tiny windows. Overall, really impressive.
Brumfield looked like a man among boys out there. He was way more physically imposing than everyone that stepped on that field. They had him at tackle and played him a bit at d line. He looked a little too nice at times but I think that's mostly because he coulda killed those poor Zachary boys if he went too hard. He's gonna be a solid player at the next level and he's a great get.
Brossette also looked pretty impressive. He's very much a bruiser type of running back. He got blown up on the first play, but after that he was very solid with a short td run later on and he always seemed to fall forward.
Moses looked like a full grown man out there. It's hard to believe he's only going to be a freshman. They slotted him at linebacker and he played some running back too. He looked most impressive on defense where he was around the ball on most plays. His drops into coverage also looked pretty good. He never seemed out of place. While he looked good early on, as the scrimmage progressed he started to look somewhat average, but still a solid contributor nonetheless. I think that can be attributed to conditioning, which it is a spring game of course, so I wouldn't too much weight into it. He'll be a great player in these next four years that'll be extremely fun to watch.
All in all these are three kids that I definitely want to see playing for LSU one day.

I agree that fatigue took its toll on my lil rookie...The upside is that U-high starts summer conditioning shortly.

At some point Zachary will have to learn how to play defense and not to rely on trying to have to outscore people.
It doesn't always work in district and it certainly doesn't work against the elite programs in the playoffs like Acadiana.

Add the 2nd string QB (#17) to the list with manny. He hit his receivers in the hands on both deep and short routes. His throws were just as impressive as Manny's throws. Then he turned around an gripped people on defense. My kind of fella!

I thought for a spring game, cubs looked pretty good. Only real question for offense was Manny taking over for Krag and it looked like he will do just fine. Oline should at least be equal to last year with the loss of 1 very good senior, couple of capable replacements.
Defensively I think we will be a bit of a work in progress, but as young guys get experience we will be just fine. It would have really helped Dylan if my oldest #44 was able to play this year. Being next to an experienced player would have really taken the thinking out of it and helped him to be able to just play.
Biggest question mark for Cubs this year is numbers/depth and I think we may have to rely on some kids playing both sides of the ball a bit more than the past couple of years.

I can see Dylan playing LB if he STAYS under 6'3". I think Dylan's father said a bone study revealed that Dylan is likely to grow to 6'6". If so, his size, speed, strength, and technique will likely start comparisons with Jadeveon Clowney (among others).
