Dear 'Stros fans: Redhawks a good sign?

I haven't followed the OKC Redhawks at all this year, but notice they are winning and leading their division. PCL is typically a tough league too.
Is this a good sign or is it just players playing above their abilities?

I sure hope so. The CC Hooks are playing well too last I saw.

It is certainly good to have your farm clubs winning. Not much a correlation to winning at the MLB level

Its AAA. Nowadays all the talent that matters is in A and AA ball. AAA is a place to stash older guys and give your younger guys to develop before they come to the show for maybe a half season or so.

Though it also means they're winning vs everyone else's future talent as well.
And of course Wallace is batting .305 with 5Hrs in just 21 games. compared to his .042 clip in the majors.

AA= pitching.

This.
AAA is still where a lot of very good position players go to cut their teeth before the majors. To dismiss AAA as being irrelevant misses the point. Does team performance matter, hard to say, but individuals performing at a high level there can be indicative of future MLB success. With the caveat that the PCL is a hitters league and so don't get too excited.

That's good news for the astros because i don't think there are many pitchers in your top 10 prospects. Obviously i have no idea of the circumstances so it may be indicative of nothing, but i think you'd want to see them pitching deeper in games (at least what i take way from that snapshot).

FWIW, the PCL is a total hitters' league. A bunch of players rake and have a damn tough time transitioning to the MLB.
I've seen it happen to plenty of A's prospects, most notably Michael Taylor. In the PCL, the dude can hit .280+, OPS well over .800, double digit homers, etc, but he's looked absolutely clueless at the plate during the opportunities he's had in the majors thus far.

just means theyre the best at not being major league caliber.

oh in that case you're set.
only saw one in the top 100 and assumed that was speaking to the fact that most of your high end talent was on the positional side.

I don't think that's ever gonna go away. Astros just better hope he's not a Drew Stubbs incarnate. Maybe hoping for a poor man's Mike Trout (.260 avg, 20+HR, 20+ steals, .310+ OBP) is a good view.
