The 1988 Auburn game was a defensive snoozer until Eddie Fuller caused the earthquake.

Hate to break it to you boys but with the exception of the last drive......the 2nd half of Texas A&M 2012; may be the best half of defensive football anybody will ever play on Manziel again.
Manziel had 27 yards rushing in that game and got 15 on 1 run for a 1st down......

All mentioned are good. I would also put the Arizona game in 03. Sitting there watching that D totally own that Arizona team on the road. We all asked the question is our D that good or is Arizona that bad. Well we found out our D was that good.
This. Most dominating game I have ever watched. O and D.

2003 UGA regular season/SECCG - Well documented;
We gave up over 400 yards in that regular season game. The only real dominance was when Shockley went into the game. Other than that, UGA shot themselves in the foot multiple times with turnovers, iirc.

We're going to have to disagree (vehemently) about the cause of those turnovers. Greene had the ball punched out beautifully from behind on a hustle play (by Spears or Hill, I believe). Corey Webster's INT was a glorious feat of athleticism. He blanketed the receiver, somehow stretched a single arm out on Greene's back shoulder throw, tipped the ball to himself, and caught it. I think the other INT was caused by a fierce rush that deflected Greene's pass into the air.
Also, let's not forget that about 100 yards of the 400 total was given up on a single screen play which happened to fortuituously be called into a blitz.

this
everyone forgets this game with 06 coming later, but we went on the road early and beat the piss out of them
38-0 at half
they scored ona 1 yard fumble return in 4th, then a td with 5 minutes left
something like 130 of arizonas 180 yards came in the 4th quarter
Who was it that offered the priceless TBS half-time commentary? Brian Bozworth or somesuch? Hilarious.
Bozworth was asked how zona could get back in the game.
He replied to fill LSU 's Gatorade with super colon blow
And maybe LSU wouldn't show for the second half.
Haven't seen the Boz doing much commentary on college football. Wonder why? LOL

Arizona '06 is the only time i was concerned for an opposing players life. I thought Tuitama was gonna die on the field that day.
Most defenses are content with one defender making contact that stops the ball carrier's advance.
Not Bo Pelini.
Not that game.
Most memorable event was first contact sending Tuitama in the air, and then not one, but two players participated in the MID AIR tackle.

Willing to bank that at least 3 teams will hold Manziel to a stretch of similarly low output next season.

1982 Bama game at Birmingham Legend Field. 0 first downs in the first half. And Bama had a top 5 team going into that game. Bear Bryant's most humiliating loss in his career.
Posted on 5/8/13 at 2:53 pm to CITWTT
This, 69 team only gave up approx 34 yards a game rushing.

'03 was the best defense I remember:
USCe: 0 yards rushing (may have been negative yrds)
OU: 154 total yards
Bama: not sure of stats, but I remember Shaud Williams being so frustrated he was longing for another interview with Bruno on the Ali G show.

Rushing & Passing? No way.....
Have you even seen their schedule? The only defenses worth a crap are us, Vandy, and Bama.

Well, I exaggerated when I said "at least" 3.
And I didn't mean both passing and rushing.
I guess my point is that I disagree with the comment of:
I expect a big letdown next season where he is "merely" above average.

That total domination is what got us in to the title game that year.
Makes UK and Arkansas pretty shocking.
I'll take VT as well.

Well Manziel barely 50 total yards in 2nd half until the garbage drive and 2 turnovers....
It was a masterpiece
It was a masterpiece

No.
That's his point.
Because of those losses, had we not completely skullfricked VT, we would not have made the last massive polevault to the NC game because we won the SEC championship.
That one game stuck in the memory of lots of pollsters because it was proved in the season that VT wasn't a case of preseason overatedness.
Pollsters just couldn't justify leaving LSU out of the NC and give the slot to VT.
EDIT: Well that's no fair, you can't reverse your statement

the Oklahoma national championship game in 2003. Total domination. And they had the Heisman Trophy QB, and we made him look like a third string scrub.
