The burden is not in buying them, the burden is when you're average gamer is at a huge disadvantage because they can't shell out hundreds of dollars to advance their team/character. And I'd say this is all fine if you aren't getting a competitive advantage (character outfits, etc.). But of course they'll give it a competitive advantage, because more people are likely to reluctantly spend the money for that boost.
The problem really comes into play in multiplayer games where you can pay-to-win. I don't play star wars games and I wont be getting this one, so I dont really care if EA makes it pay-to-win or not. But for the people buying it, that kinda thing just sucks IMO.

If one could pay for boosted standard team rosters which are used competitively then there might be an issue. As it stands the average gamer isn't at a disadvantage because he doesn't frick with MUT and MUT isn't used competitively.

This is true. And for the sake of this Star Wars game, I hope that EA doesn't make it that way.

Yeah I don't mind microtransactions as it stands but as you say, if it crosses into making things unfair competitively - that's when we will all have issues.

I think 1313 is DOA. Wasnt that tied to Lucas arts?
Yes, but I've read recently that is was just halted. I think they were pretty deep into the game. More than likely they want to evaluate the project. First SW game I have been excited about for awhile.

MUT is a bonus feature. it's kinda shitty to hate a company just because of an optional feature in the game that you don't have to buy

I never said I hated EA for MUT, I never said I hated EA at all for that matter.

Somebody needs to take this .gif and replace "Obama" with "EA." It could be our go-to response for shite like this.

Yep, there is no middle ground.

A lot of people find the hatred of EA unreasonable, but it isn't like it hasn't been building over the years.
They have worked very hard to earn all of the hatred they receive. It is quite deserving.

Eh. This isn't too bad. Maybe now a game similar to Battlefront will come out. Or even better a game similar to that bounty hunter game on gamecube.

I'd rate Old Republic above the Kinect Star Wars dance games, but that's the only competition
