Jesus, you're so insanely uptight when it comes to the Clippers.
I think the point others are making is that the Hornets' future is probably better than the Clippers'. Provided, of course, AD doesn't pull a Blake Griffin and actually improves after his rookie season.

I would hope your team would make the playoffs with Chris Paul. Even we made the playoffs with Chris Paul and we had a bunch of crap around him in his last few years. I see CP3 returning as a very very very long shot. I do, however, think our roster is much better now. And a Veteran PG like CP would elevate this team dramatically. Maybe even higher than where the Clippers are right now. You probably think that sounds preposterous but if you look at our young core, we have a bunch of potential. Oh, plus we have a GM and coach that doesn't completely suck. So, that helps.

That's kind of an unfair bet since you're betting on 29/30 possibilities and he's betting on 1/30

Oh come on man. It's a sports board with some relatively minor smack talk. Don't pull out he FAQ and posting guidelines, along with your position, to send an implied threat. Loosen the frick up, bro.

The Clippers, with a top 3 player losing in the first round or the Hornets who were just a season ago bad enough to earn the top pick in the draft? And you're asking which one had a more disappointing season in regards to expectations(i.e., flop)?
The Clippers.

Given the reminders I've received, I must be confused a lot.
ETA: About the Clippers, the thing that stands out is the failure to meet expectations. The Hornets didn't really expect shite. Next year will be different.

Well no shite. The Pelicans weren't supposed to make the playoffs. The Clippers on the other hand, weren't supposed to be a first round exit

Its really not. With the amount of money and options for the Pelicans to consider, they could certainly be a frontrunner

LA has a history of banning me for mild Chokers smack talk. Lol at his ban bet. I thought Chicken doesn't like those.
Why come on HORNETS Talk? Of course you are going to be less respected than on a Flop City board. I am not, nor do I plan to be, on a Chokers board.

quote:the clippers have hit their ceiling with their current core. they will never compete with this team. pels have an excellent young nucleus and loads of cap space. pels have a promising future the clippers are historically known for failing. i'd have to say that currently the pels are more attractive as a franchise taking location out of the equation.

a lot of the clipper problems can be fixed by having a real NBA coach. that said, still dont think they are more than a conference semifinalist.
the clippers have a brighter future over the next year or two, pelicans over the next 4 years and beyond.

I love everyone's optimism.
I think I'll play it safe and wait til after the draft and free agency.
Yes, we have a lot of money to spend. But TigerinAtl told me (and I respect his opinion) that New Orleans isn't a free agent destination. So with that said, what are the realistic chances we land some game changers?
And to say this years crop of rookies will immediately change this team is crazy. IMO, this years draft is full of Thomas Robinsons. And they don't even look as impressive in college. That's why would should trade the pick.
I'm hoping like crazy my feelings are wrong. I can't even stand thinking of another season like last.
frick the Clippers and the whiny horse they rode in on.
Eta. And we have the whole EG shite going on.

I really didn't.
But it seems to me that everyone thinks its a certainty we will land the top free agents bc we have the money.

I think it's not a destination either, but I think Dell can continue to collect those Andersonian assets . . . great value, good talent . . . and then strike to bring in a star later.
Players are cautious with the careers. New Orleans will have to prove to a star they can give them what he needs, and then, and only then (I think), will New Orleans be penciled in as a FA destination without severely overpaying.

It's really not. If he signed with us he'd be playing with the best team he'd ever had in Nola. We probably win like 20+ more games this past season with him versus GV.

Huh? Wait. This season that just ended? You mean the theoretical team we could put together next season?
